About This Game

Explore the twisting passages and alleys of the Halls, a liminal manifestation of the subconscious of many.

After clicking a shady looking hyperlink and filling out a survey, you find yourself in a non-sensical place where gravity implies no "up" or "down." The unfortunate residents encourage you to find your way out by facing your regrets and getting stronger.

Gain abilities, jam with foes and conquer the Halls!

 • Walk on walls, use your gravity beam and other abilities you unlock to traverse the Halls how you please.
 • Solve puzzles! Test your wit with perplexing and disorienting challenges.
 • Explore a cute low-poly environment with retro-inspired pixel graphics.
 • Make friends with the cast of characters in the same situation as you! Help them out with tasks, and they might just reward you with items and lore.
 • Fight a plethora of enemies to the beat of unique soundtracks!

 • Time your parries, dodges and jumps to the beat of the song!
 • An expansive list of scores dictate tempo and feel of the combat!
 • Almost every sound effect, from abilities, to dialogue, to combat sounds are in tune with the melody!

An extremely fun 3D Metroidvania. The puzzles can feel a little finicky at times due to their physics nature, but they are typically quite clever, especially the harder ones near the end. This game has given me some of the best "ah-ha" moments I've had with puzzlers (looking at you gambler's palace puzzle heart that took me 2 hours to solve since there was no guide). The boss fights are also a highlight, really putting players into a flow state as they focus on parrying the timed attacks (you should try to rack up points, it makes the fights that much better). Of course, as a rhythm game, the OST is a bop. The retro visuals also add to the style and flair of the game. All in all, definitely a game I would recommend buying if it seems at all interesting to you.

Metro Gravity is a really weird and charming 3D metroidvania which, like its name implies, revolves around gravity. Right from the start, I was shocked when I realized how much effort the developer put into that mechanic. You can walk everywhere: on the ground, on walls, on the ceiling, even on random everyday objects. The gravity shifts everytime you approach a different surface. It was quite disorienting sometimes, with the camera having to constantly reposition itself 😄 It's extremely impressive that it was made by one person. It must have been a nightmare to code all of this. The game feels very dreamlike, firstly because of the story, but also because of a few other things: the low poly artstyle; the cryptic dialogues; the boss arenas feeling very out of place; and the world design being reminiscent of Escher's Relativity (think of that picture with all the stairs upside down going in every direction). Sometimes you'll also stumble on isolated rooms with small planetoids float...

Fun metroidvania-esque game with great boss fights set to the music, an interesting world and characters and a neat aesthetic that reminds me of Pseudoregalia, while being hampered by awkward camera controls and, in my opinion, puzzles that didn't really fit into what made the game best, which is the combat set to the rhythm. Definitely worth a go in any case!
