About This Game

Xenopurge is a tactical auto-battler where you command an elite squad remotely, deep in the warzones of Xenowarfare. As part of M.A.C.E. (Mercer’s Advanced Combat Enterprises), your mission is clear: purge all these aliens to keep humanity safe.

From several computer screens, you'll see the layout of the facilities your units traverse, directing them to search, recover and destroy.

The Xeno menace is relentless. To survive, you’ll need sharp tactics, upgraded gear, and a willingness to sacrifice. You’re not in the field—but their lives are in your hands.

You give the orders, they fight for their lives

Instead of a classic top-down view of the battlefield, you operate from a remote command center surrounded by screens and data feeds. You can give orders to your troops from a list of instructions but will have a limited range of direct actions to impact the battlefield. Xenopurge is more about anticipation and planning, than reaction and control.

Recruit and equip your squad

As the mission unfolds, you'll have the chance to bring in new squad members with their own starting tactical methods. Gear them up to fit your command style — shaping a team built for your tactical needs.

Experience a tense tactical auto-battler

You're leading your troops to hunt and exterminate alien threats in the depths of space. Ominous, dark spaceships inspired by the likes of Alien & Space Hulk combined with a retro-futuristic aesthetics, creating a creeping horror atmosphere where every decision feels critical. It’s not just about tactics — it’s about surviving the unknown.

Keep improving

Every decision matters with the tension of death looming over your shoulders, countered with the satisfaction of roguelite continuous progression, you'll shape your strategies to overcome the evolving threats. Expand your command abilities and unlock new recruit options after every run. Success or failure, you will become a better leader.

Quick Diverse Engaging Sessions – Playable in Short Bursts

Designed for fast, intense tactical runs, Xenopurge lets players complete a run in around 60 minutes—This makes it easy to pick up and play, whether you have time for a single mission or an extended session.

Procedurally generated maps ensure no two missions are the same, with variable layouts, enemies, keeping each run unpredictable.

Combined with diverse objectives like search, escort, extraction, and destruction, every mission becomes a fresh tactical challenge.

After exhausting all Commander Progress unlocks currently available, I can happily say the game as-is is worth it. There's a ton of potential, but they've already locked in a good core gameplay loop and that's key. Wishlist: * Flamethrowers * More commands * More of everything, really * Xeno noises * Additional Xeno species, maybe? * Multi-leg missions * Maybe some sort of panic or "unit break" mechanism? Excited to see what's next!

This game is incredible. The core gameplay loop is both tense and chaotic. In a matter of seconds, things can go from calm to frantic. The game has you moving 2-4 units through each 'mission' trying to perform certain objectives. You don't control each unit directly. Rather, you give them a series of commands which they execute to the best of their ability. This is what creates the balancing act of each mission. Do you spread your units out? Group them up? Do you leave the (vulnerable) VIP unattended? The UI is simplistic, but I really like it. It's also part of the challenge. If you could simply click and micromanage every single unit, the game would have a drastically different feel. Rather, you're in the shoes of the commander, which means you give the orders, but you don't execute the orders. The Xenos you fight are quite nasty. In the beginning, hunting them down doesn't feel so bad. But as things progress, there's a slight horror element to the game. You'll find yourself w...

Easiest recommend in ages. This is the birth of the "Semi-auto battler" genre, and I'm convinced we will see imitators in a year or two. Firstly, the demo is the same game. Challenge progress carries through to the main game, the difference is that the main game has a bunch of different progression options. (Progression in the demo is restricted to the initial set of challenges: for instance using the instant heal enough times unlocks the first aid kit. The first aid kit is a stronger heal, but it takes much, much longer to apply.) Secondly, they've done something very cool when it comes to roguelite design. Instead of giving you a near-impossible mission that you eventually upgrade to the point where you can beat it, they give you a very achievable mission, with optional increases in difficulty unlocking alongside increases in your tactical options. The other thing is that your meta progression doesn't unlock better options, it unlocks different options. Maybe they're more po...

Playing this game feels like taking a tactical command post in an '80s science fiction setting.

I got hooked with the game. It really captures the feeling of being a commander giving orders and assessing the situation through lo-fi monitors, akin to Aliens. The aesthetic alongside the ambient sounds captures this kind of mood perfectly. Moreover, the missions are always tense and keeping you on the edge. I believe Xenopurge finds great balance in its roguelike elements. In higher difficulties the runs just feels right in terms of length. It makes it very easy to jump back again after a run is finished successfully or in failure. I also appreciated how different the two available squads play. They make you rethink your tactics, and I'm really looking forward for the new squads Traptics will come up with.

Really enjoyed this game. Not encountered any bugs are issues would say its well worth the money and feels very stable for an early access game. Would love the option to pick the package back up if the unit carrying it dies that's caught me out a few times towards the end of a run and cost me but overall really enjoyed it. Looking forwards to the next update

The retro aesthetics with the console look and the Space Hulk vibes is what got me interested in the game, but the roguelike runs and progression is what kept coming back to play more. If you like tactical games with a unique approach you won't be disappointed!
