About This Game

Spanning the ancient world from the Aegean to Mesopotamia and down to Ancient Egypt, Dynasties almost doubles the size of PHARAOH’s campaign map by adding 168 new settlements, new historical landmarks, new victory objectives and more. To traverse this vastly expanded sandbox new Sea Travel Lanes have been added that speed up the fleets carrying your armies, enabling you to raid and invade further and faster.

Dive into four new playable factions: Babylon, the Assyrians of Hanigalbat , Mycenae and Troy. With Mycenae and Troy based in the Aegean opposite Babylon and the Assyrians of Hanigalbat in Mesopotamia, these major factions arrive alongside 25 additional minor factions available for you to lead through the cataclysmic events of the Bronze Age collapse.

Start a family tree with the new Dynasty system. Reign over the tides of mortality and succession, navigating strategic marriages, heroic deaths on the battlefield, assassinations, and the looming mortality of old age to leave behind a legacy that will last the ages.

Wage war with over 150 new and reworked units including cavalry, camel riders and faction specific units such as the Guards of Troy. Challenge yourself with new battle mechanics such as the Lethality modifier which makes both receiving or unleashing a charge or a volley of missiles deadlier and more decisive in the heat of battle.

The worst Total War experience I have ever had. The Ai throws their soft malleable bodies at you regardless of the situation. Are they attacker or defender? Are they on a hill? Are you? Who has the number advantage? The quality advantage? The triangle advantage? The computer will not consider any of this. The computer will full send at you every time. This was like playing chess with a child that has only learned checkers so far. For a game company thats been doing the same genre for 20+ years they should be outright ashamed by this product and this will probably be the last TW I ever purchase... but Ill go make a post about how good Shogun 2 is on the way out.

*Dynasties* is becoming my favourite Total war game in recent history. Innovations like strongholds (storing manpower at 50% cost) adds depth to unit/economy management, allowing the player to build up an army on the cheap and attack in force--something that has not been possible since the days of no-general armies; or varied resources (instead of just money) that makes the player actually need to use diplomacy for once, and greatly benefit from it.

TOTAL WAR AT HIS BEST I have been playing Total War since Shogun. The concept was great. But, most of the time, we were doing the same each and every single game. Most TW games have only one coin (gold). Different resources were only ways to get gold. This was improved in TW Troy, with a complex economy with food, stone, copper and gold, forcing you to take strategic economical decissions. Troy also includes Gods Worship, to add bonusses to your armies- But Troy fails to offer an asimetric-multi-cultural-war, like Medieval, Rome, Attila, Empire... Also, most of the games have a narrow range of buildings: Farms, barracs, Walls, etc. So every city was the same. Pharaoh Dinasties took improvements from Troy and Three Kingdoms and push them to the limit. You have so many buildings thats almos impossible to play two times the same. It was sayd that every strategic game its a serie of relevant decissions. In Pharaoh Dinasties, with so many choices, buil...

A great historic TW game set in an age not usually seen in games. The game may have been mired in controversy at release but for what it is now, it makes a for a solid buy for any historic TW fans.

I own every TW game ever made. This one plays like Rome 2. So if you were one of the 3 people who liked it. Buy Pharaoh on sale.

This is the Bronze Age Total War we always wanted. I absolutely love the time period, and the game itself has improved with a new resource system that allows for greater strategic gameplay. I needed bronze for armoured units, and scouted a nearby bronze region and made it my base of operations for my campaign as Lycia. There is food, bronze, stone, wood and gold for big buildings and elite units, it sounds complicated, like a paradox game, but this is what total war was back in the day, with its population stats and traits and such which have been ripped out in recent titles, going back to these small details was wonderful, even if its just the resources. Not to mention the really fun kingdom structure, that allows you to challenge for the crown in one of the four ancient spheres of influence, and the revamped family mechanics. It was transformed by the free massive content they implemented, adding the Aegean and Mesopotamia, letting us control factions like Troy, Mycenae, Babylon an...

the game mechanics are widely broken, its disappointing to see how far the Total War franchise has fallen since the release of ROME.

Despite some glaring flaws and persistent bugs, the game is visually appealing and immersive for anyone interested in Bronze Age combat.
