Oh you beat half the game and couldn't figure out how to defend the chest in the first tile? Too bad, it had a +12 attack item in it and now all your troops are dead because you didn't have 500 coins to place walls and traps that only work once. Also, you'll have to restart the whole campaign.

About This Game
Maze Keeper is a reverse Dungeon Crawler, combining
Tower Defense, Roguelike and Auto Battler.
A game where you're not the classic hero, the brave adventurer,
but instead the guardian of a haunted maze.
Your mission? Stop the adventurer from reaching the exit !
⦿ A wide range of monsters
Monsters that are increasingly powerful but also increasingly difficult to place,
with different families of monsters each with their own specialities.
Discover them all !
⦿ An endless domain of mazes
The game takes place in a procedurally-generated maze
so each playthrough offers a unique challenge.
Reroll the maze as much as you like before the game starts,
until you find a comfortable layout to play your run!
⦿ Lots of cards to help you
Monster cards and special cards to reinforce your tiles,
move or improve the strength of your monsters.
⦿ Find the totems to obtain powerful upgrades
Totems offer powerful passive powers to some, if not all, of your monsters,
opening up a wide range of strategies and gameplay options.

The tutorial is pretty spartan, it only tell you a few small hints, then the story make you face adventurers that grow stronger with time, and all you have are weaker enemies like spiders and such, until you get rich enough to unlock other monsters. The game progress after you pass a certain enemy level and lose, then the progress you have will get reset back to weak spiders and maybe a new map alongside a few lines of story that barely make sense and gives you new currency/resources that the game wont tell you how to use. Then you start over yet again with weak spiders and try your best to not get wiped out early on. It doesnt feel like you get any progress, and the game is more interested in telling the plot rather than telling you how to properly play the game, you get the bare basics of the basic, then youre on your own. If unlucky, prepare for a lot of game overs before you finally lose on an acceptable level. I played until halfway through chapter 2, I did not have fun.
Great game, RNG can be a bitch but it is fun to make the best of a bad draw. Only the story mode is a roguelike, the "classic" mode is just survive as long as possible from the same starting condition. The roguelike in the story is very interesting as both the adventurer (the enemy) as the monsters (your minions) can get buffed. Your monsters gain more quickly in strength if you play well, if you barely pass the hero might destroy you in the next level. Because of this I would have loved an option to simply repeat a stage. One thing the game doesn't tell you but is important to play strategicaly; you can buy items for storage. There is a symbol for that on the top right of a card.
tower defence with a twist, definitely worth the price, a little tricky getting started,, bit of a learning curve, but a lot of fun
I've played for an hour. Despite what HR might say 10/10
shovel wear trash bearly works
Item rewards are too strong allowing the "player" to steamroll you quite easily if they get the right one. The best way to win is simply to not play.
The game is extremely heavily RNG based, the adventurer gets rewards quite heavily that will stack between levels. Once you hit a point where he's kinda hit a critical point, you can't make enough money to keep him at bay. In other words, the game plays heavily in its favor and if you lose your footing, he'll steamroll, leaving you to have to repeat the same level several times over before you get lucky enough to survive its onslaught.
Game not balance at all. It feels like everything is againts the player and the hero gets overpower way to quick. Need improvement!
