About This Game
Tower Networking Inc is a blend of simulation and economic-strategy with rogue-like elements. Physically connect your clients to your networks by patching cables into switches, routers and data risers. Run an internet service provider in a tower that keeps building random floors. Each new floor comes with unique residences and/or offices that naturally has a variety of different needs.
As the network operator, you are tasked to provide connectivity and various IT related services to the residents in the tower on a limited budget. Your board of directors have a strict policy where you must never go over-budget or face termination from your role. Additionally, some of your clients have service level agreements (SLA) and you must ensure their internet connection (and the services they need) stays up. If any of them files a complaint, then its game-over!.
Your goal is to ensure your internet service provider runs as long as possible.
Key Features:
RUN AN INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER: Provide internet services to residences and offices in an ever-expanding randomly generated tower.
CABLE MANAGEMENT SIMULATION: Spaghetti ahoy! Link up switches and routers with various types (and lengths) of network cables.
COMMAND LINE INTERFACE: Trace connectivity between equipment, scan for devices, install server applications and troubleshoot your network issues all using the good-ole terminal console.
DIVERSE INTERNET ACTIVITIES: Cater to the wide variety of online activities like web forums, social media sites, online streaming platforms, digital banking, web-hosting. Host various applications to satisfy the needs of your clients.
HANDLE DISASTERS: From power outages to cyberattacks, you're in charge of disaster recovery of your network. Ensure your clients can still reach their digital destination even when the lights are out.
ECONOMIC STRATEGY: Keep a close eye on your finances. Invest in equipment, manage operational costs, and develop strategies to keep your internet service provider profitable.
SOLO AND CO-OP MODES: Play in a single-player tailored mode or play co-op with many friends with a harder difficulty setting.
MORE FEATURES AVAILABLE IN EARLY ACCESS:
Various online activities
Malicious users
Monitors for statistics
Buy equipment
Trolley to carry equipment

I love this game, though I think it would be better if it was more realistic (or maybe having a realistic toggle option?), e.g. not allowing dns or routing with hardware addresses, maybe distinguishing between layer 2 and layer 3 in the router and use route command with network addresses(defining the routing table) and a new switch command with hardware addresses(defining the forwarding table).
Absolutely love it. If you're a network engineer, you'll have to re-learn how the game's networking logic works, but you'll have an edge, and you'll still enjoy it a lot. A lot of the mechanics don't work as smooth and easy-to-use as in real life, but it makes the game more fun at the same time. The main appeal of the game is that you get to architect and plan the entire network. The mechanics are very well balanced: you can brute-force your way through it, or elect to do more manual configuration to optimize what you have. This can go to the extremes, with a lot of configuration allowing you to use a lot cheaper devices. Highly recommended to anyone who likes networking as a hobby or profession. I don't recommend it to learn networking in the first place.
I finally found an use for my CCNA
If you can last 40 days in this game, you probably can add Tower Networking Inc. Certified in your LinkedIn profile. 11/10 will rip 50 cables again because I yanked the switch out of the rack
A lovely-crafted internet service provider simulator.
Even for early access, it is very playable and already loaded with content. In the main scenario, you are the system admin of a tower. With the help of your trusty debugger, lots of cables, routers, switches, servers and much more, your task is to develop and maintain a stable network. With the ongoing expansion, more floors get added to the tower. Meanwhile, the game gets more complex because of the growing network traffic and some additional events like power outages, network worms or faulty components. You need to make sure the network remains as stable as possible while these events occur. Also, the more the tower expands, the more demanding the users and provider become. To suit the growing needs, you get better components and more programs over time. The game has quite a steep learning curve, but with the help of the tutorials the basics are well covered. The experience is well-balanced between realism and playabi...
will have you going "just one more floor" at 4am
Yeah, feels like a good balance of realism/fun (from a non-professional's POV). Has been interesting so far. Would like cable ties or wire guides for better cable management (would be very satisfying) [strike] and the ability to put cables on tables/trolley or otherwise store them rather than just having them drag on the ground [/strike] *has been added*
Cable too short simulator 10/10
very nice game and sandbox as a real life Network Admin / Network Technician. some syntax are not used in real life for me but its close and still fun.
