The game play loop is good. The randomness of the encounters definitely makes or breaks some of the runs. This is much more noticeable on hard mode even though the only apparent differences are that the enemy commander gets invulnerability and spawns plenty of reinforcements once they get low enough. Speaking of which, it'd be nice to have a description of what makes 'hard mode' harder. It's not necessary, but at some points it doesn't seem any different than normal mode and the description would help. The relics are also a cool feature. They're just good. I have three issues with them (one I'll talk about in the spoiler section). Mostly it's with the amount of relics. I understand it's difficult to make a wide variety, so it's not a deal breaker of a problem. The second, much smaller issue, is the icons shown when rolling for relics.
