DigDigDrill is a refreshingly simple yet compelling mining simulator that manages to distill the core of resource-gathering games into a relaxing, strategy-infused loop. Developed by solo creator Toorai, it’s a game that strips away noise—there are no enemies to fight, no stories to unravel, and no convoluted crafting trees. Instead, what it offers is a surprisingly engaging experience centered entirely around digging deeper, collecting minerals, and customizing your ever-evolving drill to take you further into the earth. What seems at first glance to be a basic tap-and-collect game quickly reveals layers of thoughtful mechanics and smart design that reward planning, patience, and experimentation. The core gameplay is straightforward: descend through a grid-based underground world, tile by tile, harvesting ores and unlocking new depth milestones along the way. The loop is satisfyingly tactile—you click to dig, gather resources, and bring them back to the surface where you can re...

Spent 1 week of my life trying farm up money & hammers to get the drill i wanted because i spent another whole week typing & figuring out what drill i wanted to make, only to find out 2 weeks & 1 day of trying again again agian again x113 times was a waste of my life on this game & get absolutely no where, now i feel completely drained, completely dead inside for wasting my life to get nothing in return & never want to play this again, why cant you spend a hammer to reroll 1 enchant instead of rerolling all 4 enchants everytime so i didnt have to waste 100s of attempts & wind up with none of the enchants you wanted, its so beyond stupid that you cant just reroll 1 single bloody enchant, im guessing the game is hard preset to not allowing a drill to have destiny & extratime not permitted to be on the same drill has to be split up on a different drill slotted in, would of been nice to know that sooner now everything else i had planned for the slotted drills was also pointless because the...

Demo data did not transfer. I'm a bit salty about that ngl. Drills being rng and reforges offering no guarantees is frustrating. While I will personally continue to play, I would not recommend this game to anyone.

I haven't gotten to level 1,000 yet, but I'm just noodling around, having fun. I wouldn't call this particularly challenging. Drive & drill around until you fill up your waste bag, then return. Rinse. Repeat. The design-a-drill mini-game is interesting, but not really my cup of tea. I tend to just cheese it and take whatever I get. I'm sure I could go faster if I cared to play that mini-game more. ...but for $4 USD, how can you go wrong? No controller support, but works fine on the Steam Deck using WASD/mouse.
