About This Game

Version Comparison

  • All players have the same maximum limit in the out-of-battle development section;

  • Regardless of whether players purchase Gems, they can reach this limit through daily gameplay;

  • Gems can substitute for Diamonds and are used to refresh certain random elements in the game.

About the Game

'Pennon and Battle' is a turn-based strategy game. As a lord, you will explore the edges of the map, develop town buildings, and lead your troop to grow amidst the intertwining of spell and smoke of war, ultimately letting your banner fly across all of Ruachland!

Alignment Conflicts in Ruachland

  • 5 major Alignments: The Sacred Oath Alliance, masters of Mech technology; the nature-loving Elven Empire; the rapidly multiplying Ancient Swarm; the immortal Eternight Council; and the totem-revering Barbarian Tribe... Each Alignment features exclusive music。

Build Your Troop

  • 3 main hero classes: personally join battles, with ranged units able to switch to melee attack;

  • 55 heroes, each with unique talents, further customizable through a talent tree;

  • 17 hero skill categories: over 150 sub-skills, providing a different experience every moment;

  • 3 soldier advancement paths: directly recruit 140 soldiers, and control up to 168 soldiers through summoning, persuasion, and other means. Soldiers from different alignments can be flexibly combined.

Strategize Your Tactics

  • Diverse skills: most Soldiers can use active skills and have unique passive effects;

  • Exclusive buildings: each alignment has 6 exclusive buildings, and you can use Brilliant Starstone to construct miracle buildings;

  • Rich spells: 6 spell schools + 1 special spell category, with over 130 spells available for both combat and exploration;

  • Event cards: 29 event cards, multiple can be carried into campaigns, each with specific blessing effects;

  • Treasure system: 8 types of treasures, including 7 legendary treasures and 10 alignment-exclusive treasures, over 200 items in total, with higher-level treasures easier to find using treasure maps and compasses.

Choose Your Playstyle

  • Classic single-player campaign: 21 campaign maps with randomly generated elements, allowing players to configure alliances and various parameters;

  • Challenge campaign: 6 challenge maps, multiple difficulty levels and 17 treaties to test your limits; Story campaign: become the Elf Prince Serlin or an Eternight Council vanguard, leading your alignment to victory;

  • Multiple multiplayer modes: cooperate or compete online in the lobby, hotseat mode supports up to 8 players on the same device;

  • Epic Hero Battle: save your developed troop from campaigns to participate in tournament matches for rankings and rewards;

  • Map editor: built-in map editor and random map template editor, with sharing available via the creative workshop.

There's fucking energy limiting how much you can play and microtransactions. On top of the enjoy mode expansion which costs more than the base game, this is predatory as hell. I had hopes they would have reformed these systems on release but nah brah nah lol, don't trust these developers to keep the game up with how it looks and it being online only. Shame, had potential.

Overall: I don't recommend this game unless you want to play a new homm-like game "NOW". It might scratch an itch, but it feels Early Access to me. Cons: - Some kind of limit for the missions that can be played per week (WHY?!?); - "Enjoy mode" doesn't fix the playing limits, it just removes some micro-transactions; - Feels more like a mobile game than a PC Game in both monetisation, aspect, and behaviour (see previous points); - Cities are upgrade charts with almost no graphics; - Many unit upgrades are so close to each other in functionality, half of them make no sense, it is just stuff to read and randomly pick one; - English translations are either made with a very bad AI, or written so they avoid some kind of copyright infringements; nevertheless very weird item and unit descriptions with typos; - Bugs with audio sounds (some very loud and and weirdly repetitive; ex: poison); - Human flying units are ugly, uninspired, and make no sense (helicopters/planes that don't fly ...

This game looks interesting and plays well with potential, but it is NOT clear at ALL that this has NO offline ability at all. Even if you want to play single player on your steam deck while commuting to work. What a ridiculous decision to not support offline, especially if your only reason for doing it is to try and combat piracy. As a legit customer I'm now requesting a refund immediately and will continue playing Songs of Conquest as a decent tribute to HOMM series.

The game is ok, but I can't enjoy it when I can't understand some abilities because of the bad translation. please hire a translator, don't use AI for that, c'mon!

It's simply incomplete. I bought after seeing it compared to HOMM3 and Disciples, both games in my library, and a 1.0 confirmation for 8/8. What I was not expecting was a game devoid of interesting mechanics, the same sound effect of a dude grunting for every unit, poor translation, and graphics / music that are overall dull and uninteresting. If you need a HOMM3-like, go download a free HOMM clone from the app store. Don't pay full price for this at this time.

I played this game for 16 min . Well that is to say I looked at the login screen but wasn't being connected. Tried different times of day to login but no luck. My computer is fairly up to date and my internet connection is stable and very fast. Not a problem on my end. Finely had to get a refund from steam. buyers beware.

This game does not deserve a negative rating. At this moment there is no monetization and you can play a decent game with the standard version.

Dont listen to the negative reviews. If you are a Heroes of Might & Magic fan then you will like this game. There is no Gotcha. Get Enjoy with Base game and have fun. You will unlock everything as you play. The unlock are alot to. You got Heroes to unlock, Spells. Pennon & Battle already fun as is. But as you target & unlock stuff then well it gets even funner. I been can't put Pennon & Battle down since 1.0 release.

Very good copy of HOMM 3, if you liked Heroes you will probably like this one. I don't see why the hate, yes the game have its problems and bugs but it just came out. People this days don't want to give chance to anyone or anything.. Bottom line it's very good game for the price, even better if you play with friends.
