I was enamored with the idea, but the execution is a bit too finicky for me to really sink my teeth into. * Right click adds cards into slots. Right click also closes windows and removes all cards from slots if you misclick. Why? * There needs to be a hotkey to quickly access cards under windows. I try and keep like cards organized close to each other. Like cards are often combined (e.g. Garden + Seed + Water). Opening a window very frequently makes these cards not quickly accessible, requiring me to drag the window. Not a HUGE deal, but having to do that hundreds of times starts to add up. * To see eligible cards in a slot you must click each slot. Why not have it just require hovering? * No automation after a few hours (maybe it will be unlocked later, but I doubt it)- bulk gathering water is not fun or interesting * No hotkey to auto pull out completed cards - why not have tab do this instead of "stacking" (Who keeps like cards in separate piles? And if so it would be intentional...

A less opaque, more forgiving Cultist Simulator. A farming sim done entirely through menus. This game caters to a niche audience of a niche audience, and it's something I didn't know I've been waiting for. Steam Deck friendly right at launch. Definitely something I'm looking forward to getting to know better.
Not sure why the reviews are mixed on this? If you liked Cultist Simulator and want a new take on it, this game is perfect for you.
It's a more streamlined and less obtuse Cultist Simulator. If that made sense to you, you can stop reading, you already know what this game is about; if you're confused, here's the explanation. The game plays as a card game with timers. You have a main character that can perform various actions by dragging his card into slots on other cards, and what you can do is context-sensitive considering what and where you combine cards. For instance, drag your character to your home, and you'll rest. Drag your character to a forest and you'll explore it. Drag a turnip into your character and you'll eat it. You get the idea. Each action will take a certain amount of irl time to complete. (don't worry, it's very quick and you can fast-forward time, so it's not like a mobile timer game). Time running adds a strategic component because some cards are perishable after a while, so some planning will be required to advance and do everything you want. It's not a hard system to grasp, but it grows ...
Developers are nice, and reacting to complains quickly, have my upvote!
Was quite enjoying the game, even if things were a bit tedious here and there, particularly the multi step manual process that goes into making ascension potions, where there aren't interesting new bits to discover during the process, it's just a matter of figuring out recepies and then running the same loops of growing, mortaring/alembicing, brewing, brewing, brewing, brewing, and then more brewing. Only for all that to give you +1 of a stat, and that needs to be done dozens of times to grow your alchemist. However, my DNF for this game comes down to the fact that I thought that I was stuck when trying to grow ginsing/stinging tree, which both require two fertilizer of value 2, and I thought all compost was value 1 fertilizer as I was using decayed plants to make it. Turns out that Compost ends up with different vales of fertilizer, no where does the game try to tell you that, but the most egregious decision, the game lets you stack all compost together regardless of the fertilizer v...
The game hits a bump in midgame, and currently there are plenty of bugs. The Dev team said they pre-set a release date and then steam didnt allow them to delay it, so the game came out rushed. But. For the past three days they have been hard at work adressing everyone's bugs, manually fixing the saves of those who asked, providing support and listening to the community. I fully believe they intend to stick this through and see it finished. And I can applaud that. There is a very solid core to this game, all it needs is balancing and bug fixes.
I have a soft spot for card styled games with timers so has become part of my collection - have yet to get too deep so not sure how crazy it will get but so far if you just want to live a simple life farming turnips then this is the game for you
Game is actually fun and way more addictive than I expected. You sit down for a quick run and suddenly hours are gone. Yeah, there are some bugs and rough spots, no denying that. But it literally just came out. Dropping negative reviews right now just buries a game that has a solid base. If devs donโt fix stuff later, then fine, slam it. For now Iโd say it deserves a chance.
The game is incredibly addictive! Every minute new events, adventures, new potions. I was especially pleased with the eccentric but cute neighbor)
