Experience the award-winning RPG with support for up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS, enhanced lighting and textures, variable refresh rate (VRR), NVIDIA DLSS 3, and more. The game also supports play using the DualSense® controller.

After escaping Midgar, the City of Mako, Cloud and his comrades shatter the barriers of fate and embark on a new journey into the wide world beyond.

A brand-new adventure awaits as a vast, multifaceted world unfolds before you. Gallop across grassy plains on the back of a chocobo as you explore the world before you.

■ Story

The lifestream represents the very cycle of life and death, where all life emerges from the planet and returns to its embrace. However, the Shinra Electric Power Company ruthlessly drains the planet of its very essence, the lifestream, and processes it for industry as "mako."

After overcoming countless fierce battles in the mako-powered metropolis of Midgar, ex-SOLDIER Cloud Strife and his companions step out into the wider world. Riding across grassy plains atop chocobos, they embark on an uncertain path, beginning their fated journey across the planet.

At the same time, SOLDIER First Class Zack Fair walks through the wastelands outside of Midgar. Wounded and weary, he drags his battered body forward while supporting his dear friend Cloud, who is delirious from mako poisoning. Beyond the veil of death, an ominous rift tears the heavens above.

Meanwhile, the Wutai interim government leads the Shinra Resistance Committee in a declaration of war.

In a grim procession, mysterious black-robed figures carry the remains of Jenova, the alien entity infamously known as the cataclysm from the stars and the catalyst of our plight.

Sensing the threat to the Planet itself, the fearsome guardians known as Weapons, awaken and rise from the lifestream.

Through the machinations of Cloud’s sworn enemy Sephiroth, the strands of destiny intertwine and are reborn again.

All in all i am a bit disappointed in this game. Unlike Remake, Rebirth is not going for a linear and condensed level design but relying a lot on big open world areas. There is a lot of side content in these areas but it becomes repetitive really fast, which is my main complaint with this game. Each area proivides the same kind of content: Scan lifesprings to unlock a boss, Find challenge monsters to unlock a boss, Scan monsters to unlock Chadley challenges, Find protorelic shards, Excavate stuff with a chocobo, Do side quests that are often 80% running around and tame a chocobo for the region. I like most of the protorelic quests since they are very different in each area but the final quests makes you re-fight a lot of old bosses, which i really did not feel like doing - so i did not complete it. The protorelic quests also use mini games which brings me to my next point of the content bloat. There are just WAY too many minigames and more than half of them feel like there was a comp...

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth marks the second entry in a three-part reimagining of the legendary 1997 classic. Picking up directly where Remake left off, it drops you straight back into the heart of the central storyline. Performance on the Steam Deck was impressive overall. I did have to make some compromises – every setting was dialed down to low except for characters (high) and textures (medium) – but even so, the game looked stunning and ran smoothly about 95% of the time. Stutters cropped up in towns, cities, or during particularly crowded battles, but they never led to crashes and typically resolved themselves after a minute or so. One of my biggest complaints with Remake was its sluggish pacing, with little truly substantial happening until the late game. Rebirth fixes that in a big way. The stakes felt consistently high, and there was a stronger focus on fleshing out our characters and their motivations. This momentum was maintained for most of the game, only occasionally in...

You played Remake? Okay, but what if instead of a tightly designed game with a strong through-line, highly optional side-quests, and a compelling narrative experience, we made the game dull as dishwater, repetitive to the point of mindlessness, took out meaningful customization (bye bye weapon upgrade sphere-thing), and add a ton of map icons to slog your way over to? What, you don't like that? The most popular mod (well... almost the most popular) is "Chadley Shut Up" which makes Chadley, you guessed it, shut up? The sorry fact of the matter is, FF7 Rebirth looks real pretty, but it's a chore to play at best, and a soulless, vapid waste at worst. Your mileage may vary, but I'd put it as one of the bottom 5 RPGs I've played that have the words Final or Fantasy in the title.

The game suffers from being quite repetitive and the massive amount of mini games can be super frustrating if you are like me and need to complete everything. Some extra time consuming content feels quite forced. Story carries quite hard and had nice touches. Nostalgia value is there and the new stuff keeps it interesting. Overall 7/10.

This is a very difficult review. On the one hand the game play is improved over the already stellar ff7 remake, the graphics are still very good (although it seems actually slightly worse than remake) and the music and sound design are awesome. On the other hand, this game is a slog. If you are the type of person that likes to do everything in a game, STAY AWAY. I am currently 50 hours in and just finished chapter 9 out of 14. Even if like me you are the type of person that will do *most* side content if it's substantially interesting stay away. Almost all of the side content is interesting, the card games, interesting side quests and the proto-relic world quests are all fun and engaging. But there is so much. I ended up feeling exhausted just from opening the game and going round for five minutes because I was thinking, I have 30+ more hours of this?? If you're the type of person that doesn't want to see everything or are the type of person who can binge it in a couple weeks 10 hours ...

I can't even be bothered to finish it. This game has in insane amount of filler and none of it is fun, charming, or rewarding whatsoever. As a long-time fan, I did not expect to be this disappointed.

I have 0 interest in continuing this game and I really regret buying it. It doesn’t respect the players’ time in any respect. 3 hours in and I’ve only been in combat for about 20 min. Not only that but what’s up with these sections where cloud has a broken leg stumbling through a burning city and you’re forced to walk slowly to your objective. On top of that, long and pointless cut scenes that drag on for far too long. I was dying from boredom. Who in the right mind would think dragging a mako vacuum to get into the next area is fun in any regard? Its not a challenging task at all, Its just uninteresting time filler. After reading more online I see the rest of the game is more of the same. I really don’t feel like going though 80hrs of filler content with side quest that people recommend skipping entirely for a better experience. Also, FORCED mini games that you cant skip though? That the actual hell were they thinking. They absolutely killed the vibe from th...

It was meh. I'm an OG fan and loved Remake to bits. I don't know what it was, but Rebirth lost me. Certain areas seemed to have been rushed while others were expanded for no reason other than to be a filler. Amazing character dialogue, voice acting and music though. Love Yuffie and Barret banter. Was not a fan of a lot of bad camera angles in some boss fights, mini games, and hard mode was not fun at all.

After 51/61 achievements I decided i had done enough. This game is a long ride if you're going to hundred percent it so be ready to sink a good 200/250+ hours into it. Overall the remake series though has been fantastic all of the visual, musical, and line work was fantastic for the games first overarching darker theme compared to the first installment. The game hits amazing highs with its main story-line keeping faithful to a-lot of the original while adding its own flourishes. My ONLY complaint though is that to 100% the game there are mini games, god so damn many mini-games that will eventually make you feel like its a time waster sim more than the average rpg and some of them are so ungodly hard (like 100% perfect noting all piano score sheets) and after they go for the 4th time in the last two chapters (HEY YOU WANNA DO A FOURTH ROUND OF ALL THAT CRAP YOU JUST DID 3 TIMES UP TO THIS POINT WHEN WE COULD OF LET YOU DO IT ALL AT ONCE AND BE DONE WITH IT) It really gets you burnt out....

This game should receive the price for the most retarded obligatory minigame for a RPG.
