About This Game

Welcome to the Room 817 at 6 Lane Street, the scariest place in the United States. Rumors say that Evil himself resides there. Residents throughout the neighborhood consider this creepy apartment to be cursed, but fear always attracts adventurers, and secrets are only revealed to the brave. In August 1997, two police officers disappeared in this place and their bodies were never found.

Almost a year after those terrified events, journalist Alan Parker decides to conduct his own investigation and find out what happened to the missing police officers. On his behalf, you will have to solve interesting puzzles, avoid traps, and come face to face with the terrible monsters that inhabit the place.

Will you have the courage to find out the scariest secrets of The Room 817 and survive?

GAME FEATURES

A true old-school horror experience. There are no maps, hints, or tutorials here. No one will hold your hand and tell you how to breathe. Remember what
it means to survive.

Gameplay that doesn't forgive mistakes. Death is awaiting around every corner. Watch where you step! Traps and bottomless pits abound!

One life, one try. This game isn't for those who like to save their progress every 10 seconds. There are no checkpoints or save points here. Either you survive or you die.

Run or hide. You're not the predator, you're the prey. The Ancient Evil lurking here awaits its encounter with you.

Listen to what's happening around you. The faint creak of the floorboards or the heavy tread of the monster can help you understand where not to go.

Look around and remember. There's no logic in this place, only your memory and attention to detail will help you solve all the puzzles and find a way out.

An atmosphere of primal terror. Explore the cursed apartment with your camera and flashlight. Uncover all the secrets of this place and find out what happened here.

Aaah, I simply fell in love with this game. Room 817 is a TRUE survival horror, in its purest form. No hand holding, no checkpoints. You have to understand everything on your own. It's just you against the game. And if you die, you have to start over. Now, I'm not gonna lie, this game can be frustrating. Very frustrating. But it is also honest. If you are smart, if you are aware of your surroundings, and above all if you have good memory, your are given PLENTY of ways to survive. This game rewards experience, orientation, and, I'll say it again, good memory, just like the classic games of the 90's. At the beginning, when you are inexperienced, you may die a lot, but run after run you'll become faster and faster, better and better, until you'll manage to re-do in just a few minutes what previously took you hours. This is exactly what I love of this game, it is hard, but in the right way, because it respects the time of the player. Also, I loved the story, that is MUCH deeper than I expe...

Good game that spooky and hard at first but with couple of retries you will undeestand what to do and how to survive. Would be nice if monster AI was smarter, after some time you can understand how to easily doge it. Last escape from a monster was kinda wacky, cause i didint know where to run, doors would close in front of your nose and i was just cornered by the monster. Would like if game has a more certain ending, cause just screen with "you win" is underwhelming. 7/10

I Just Upload My Full Playthrough And Review If You Would Like To Watch, And Support A Small Creator https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsGgOncCBzw Room 817 is a short horror game, where you are constantly looking over your shoulder, and being aware of your surroundings, because if you are not, you die, and you will have to start ALL. OVER. AGAIN. Aside from the Erie atmosphere, solid sound design, and ruthless monster, the main aspect of horror in this game, is the punishment you will receive for dying. Map knowledge is key, knowing where to hide, and how far away that is is crucial to your survival. I must say, I did run into one major issue, I stumbled upoon the slide puzzle, and completed it (but was missing the final piece) I then died, and after going through the entire game, finding all the keys, and the final piece to the slide puzzle, the slide puzzle itself, was broken, and would not allow me to solve the puzzle, so I had to hard reset the entire game, and play the whole thin...
