Shade Silver

It's not bad for a first game. There is so much content in such a cheap game you're definitely not getting ripped off. Essentially, what Shade Silver is is a dungeon crawler with predesignated levels. The gameplay involves moving through maze-like levels and either avoiding or shooting down obstacles in the way. There's a lot of nuance between all of that like the secrets, the pearls, and the hints of a basic enough story. But most of the appeal comes in the game's very retro aesthetic and challenge. I have my criticisms. A lot of it is very rough around the edges. The whole game could use a lot of polish, like how the hitboxes aren't perfect which can be detrimental for such a difficult game, or how the difficulty curve isn't very smooth, with some early levels being much harder than later ones. But it's clear the developer actually put a lot of effort, time, and passion into this game which, I feel, is always worth supporting.

This game is really fun! It's challenging too! I love how the game teaches you the mechanics and allows you to build off them with each new level. I definitely want to see how far I can get with the levels and maybe catch some pearls along the way too. :)

Even though the controls and hitboxes are a bit rough around the edges, there's a lot to appreciate here. The gameplay concepts are straightforward and easy to pick up, making it surprisingly enjoyable. The unique aesthetic and the thought put into the level designs show real potential. I spent so much time on level 18 that I started finding speedrun strategies and even earned the 200 deaths achievement. Despite the difficulty, it was satisfying to finally overcome it. Challenging yet fair, all rules are laid out and you have only your skill to bring you through each stage. The sprint mechanic is essential to master timings for dodging traps and knowing when to use it and where not to can be the difference between a fast time and a loss. I can see speed running being competitive for this game!

Shade Silver is deceptively very challenging. I love it and I will definitely be completing this game. Those red worms that pop up have gotten me so many times now lol. Buy the game and you won't be disappointed. You'll love it in fact.

I can’t recommend Shade Silver enough! From the moment I started playing, I was completely immersed in its vibrant world, compelling mazes, and fluid gameplay mechanics. It took me a while to beat level one but once I did I was hooked! Thanks to the developer for putting together such a challenging and entertaining game!
