Now before you're put off by this game because it's made by the killer keem and his team - I'd like people to give it a chance. $5 is the asking price so let's keep this in mind of a small development team. The gameplay is easy to understand and controls are well explained throughout the levels, Some levels are a good level of simple and challenging as they go through the stages or "Chapters" of this game. The gnome recruitment is a brilliant feature which I think gives the game it's stand out selling point. Whilst the game is well built, I wouldn't say it is nearly polished enough for people to pay anymore than $5 - but the point is that this is fun, yes it has a few bugs and if you have a widescreen monitor, the text cuts of sometimes, but it's a great little hack and slash level up-er of a game and I think if you've got a spare $5 it's really not quite the disappointment I think a lot of people were expecting. 7/10 - Great game-play, fantastic mechanics to make it unique, a...

When I see a new game launch that calls itself a "twin stick shooter", I think about great furious action bullet hell games with solid, fluid controls like Geometry Wars or "Super Stardust" from the Playstation. This game however, at least at launch it not a "twin stick shooter" You move with the left stick on a controller, but the right stick does NOTHING. Instead, you need to use the A button for your basic attacks and fire in the direction your character is facing. ..That is NOT a "twin stick shooter" @ devs, just sayin' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFpxzwl7BUU Let me list just some of the reasons this game is an epic fail as I played it 2 days after early access launch on November 14th: 1) The game at launch has NO exit option 2) The assets purchased off the Unity store are glitchy, move glitchy and awkwardly as if the developers have no clue how to keep them controlled and not looking like they are trying to move in 8 directions at once and having convulsive seizures al...
really fun to play. i love the story line and having a army or gnomes, but there are a few stuff that annoy me and probably others. - when walking in a ton of gnomes it's hard to see your actually character. - if you have a big army of gnomes you can't walk to much so maybe make it so the gnome would move out of the way. - having a main attack then having the mana for a second attack or special. - no exit button for the game so i have to alt+f4 or manually close it. so far really fun to play and funny that this is keemstars game lol.
Gnomancer is a game about injecting garden gnomes with life to raise a mighty army of gnomes in order to fight the truly evil Voldarr who crasped control over the gnome world and now wants to conquer the human world aswell. I spent a lot of time during the Early Access phase playing and playtesting this game and truly enjoyed how the game improved in all aspects over time.
Now for the fun:
I played as a paladin. The paladin's voice is very satisfying to listen to. He growls motivational battleshouts as he and his mighty gnome army slay their foes. He throws arcane copies of his sword or shield with the attack button to damage enemies himself or commands his gnome minions to abide the pleasure of destroying Voldarr's evil monstrosities who are scattered all over the maps. https://youtu.be/mqVgVH2MY5o Along with enemies there were health and mana powerups to aid me in my quest, along with shops to power up the same stats. I gained experience from killing monsters, who also d...
I'm only a couple of hours in and having a blast. You got your gnome puns, your gnome armies and a cute whimsical graphical style of bouncy statues. Don't forget to level up! I got impatient and just started and found the first level a bit difficult even on the easiest level: fluffy. With some leveling though, it turns the tide of battle in a big way. I didn't notice the help until after I started the game and paused, but who wants to read before playing anyway? Seriously though, it's worth the read and covers the mechanics pretty well. The help does not the cover the underlying math, but that might still be a WIP and too soon to detail. I'll come back and update this review as I get more time in. The gameplay itself works very well for me, especially for an EA. * Update * This game has been finding it's way into my heart a little more. The easiest setting is enjoyable but results in a pretty quick run. By bumping the difficulty up to medium I'm finding enough challenge that I'm start...
So far I'm enjoying the game even though it's currently in early access but overall it's working nicely and is quite a bit of fun. I didn't bother reading the help info until I'd already played about 2 hours but it's pretty easy to pick up the basic mechanics yet it still has the promise of challenges yet to come. I've played enough now that I'm eager to get some more challenging skill settings. The best part, of course, is GNOMES! Nothing like building up a grand army of gnomes to face off against evil :) I am going to have to get a couple new game pads as Steam isn't overly fond of the old ones I have and Steam Remote play doesn't like them at all so at present I've been unable to take advantage of multiplayer. But I have gotten to see the results of other people in multiplayer and it's still fun.
A great chaotic couch coop game. Definitely following this one as it develops.
player movement is terrible, gnomes block your path and push your loot away. the camera focuses on random stuff instead of the player. seems kind of like a mobile game.
Not great, bought to support the dev just for him to walk away from the unfinished mess of Fortresscraft Evolved...
it's absolute beans
