This one has such a weird timeline. When the game first came out everybody called it a buggy mess and hated on the coop. Then a decade later people say it was one of the last good AC games. And now that I played it through... I barely found anything I liked about it. The parkour system is anything, but fluid. There are absolutely no character or story element I was interested in, and the camera panning during fights was a real pain in this ass. But I still did every activity in the game, so I will not give it a negative review. I simply have conflicting feelings about it.

Really cool game, although it is hard to find some people to play with on co-op it’s not impossible and both the graphics and parkour were amazing

Hot take, this game is very overrated. It is the only AC game so far where I can not wait for it to end so I can just move onto the next game. First of all, I am very surprised that the community raves about the parkour so much. The parkour is stiff and finicky. I find Arno being completely unable to move even though I am clearly clicking the button. It also feels overly floaty and weird. It's flashy I will give it that. The story is okay I guess. Not bad, not good. I feel strapped for cash 24/7. Other than looting chests, I have no idea how to get consistent amounts of money. Maybe im just stupid. I feel like it wasnt explained to me. I know there is a chest where you can get money but its not enough. So either the game is designed to be a grind, or there is no easy way to make money like in the preivous games. The combat is meh. Personally I think AC 3 and 4 nailed the combat. Unity is a step back. Not worse than AC 2 though. Combat also feels stiff at time. And buggy in...

Technically, AC Unity is my second Assassin Creed game, I've already played AC Origins before, but AC Unity is totally different from that one, personally , both of them are masterpieces, AC Unity strengthens the parkour part and it needs you to be more strategic when you are performing the task, so the use of smoke and phantom blade are quite important, it also make the game more playable. The background is in the late 18 century, covered many real person and great events in it, like the French Revolution, The rise of Napoleon Bonaparte and Storming of the Bastille, etc. In this game, you'll become Arno Dorian, a normal French citizen, but everything change since his father was assassinated by Shay when he was only a young boy, and we'll witness the growth of Arno to gradually become an Assassin Master, also the great loss of him and how he finally understood the true meaning of the Creed. This is my favorite Assassin's Creed even though it has a short story but the gameplay makes up for it, and it's the only Assassin's Creed I actually have fun getting all the collectibles, clearing the map, and just doing any content it provides because the gameplay just feels that good when you understand it. Endlessly addictive parkour and an amazing setting in Paris including Versailles and Saint-Denis that all make use of the movement as well as having very good animations. I only wish this game supported higher framerates when it comes to cloth physics on your assassin robes without having to use a mod to fix it and also wish it had better LOD because it can be pretty ugly from a distance but it's understandable given how much crowd density the game manages to pull off which makes the world feel really alive. Unity is super awesome.

Played for the story, stayed for the rooftops. AC Unity has some rough edges, but man, running through Paris never gets old.
