About This Game

Planet Alcatraz is a 3D role playing game with isometric projection. The player travels through the game world and fights against enemies in the real-time mode. In a general sense Planet Alcatraz can be portrayed as a non-linear adventure with lots of shooting. Several genres are mixed in this game but despite that fact it isn't stuck between them and appears to be a classical RPG that is based on a specially developed system.

The action takes place on prison planet Alcatraz. Its inhabitants are inveterate criminals that were banished there for the life term for their terrible crimes. The main objective of the game is to control a sabotage group that consists of the only one person in the beginning and enlarges through the game. The player has to use all sorts of resources and means to accomplish the mission.

[h1]Review[/h1] I had this game on a wishlist for a long while, mainly held back to buy because of the censorship. Slav jank + rpg, what else can a man want? I decided one night to just get it anyways as it doesn’t seem an English patch will come soon. This was a mistake. [u]Gameplay[/u] But first the gameplay. It’s a real time strategy game where you can pause the game at any time. It does a solid job, although a bit unbalanced. Or rather you don’t really have much choice in what to do. The game is mostly linear, skilling and especially gear is just the natural progress of the game. You cannot beat the game in any other way than to focus on melee weapons first, then pistols and later automatic/heavy weapons. Imperial weapons have a purpose, but basically just in the very last part of the game. There is no way around this. You start the game fighting with melee weapons and later acquire some pistols and shotguns. SMGS count as heavy weapons therefore that skill is used mostly ...
