About This Game
DEVIL BLADE REBOOT
●Overview
Devil Blade, a 1996 indie shmup released only in Japan,
has received a full remake almost a quarter century later by the original creator,
taking advantage of the latest technology.
Dive into an immersive pseudo-3D experience that pushes the limits of pixel art.
With a perfect fusion of background music and evolving stage design,
you can experience a feeling only possible in a SHMUP!
Devil Blade Reboot is presented in a seamless and cohesive package,
for the first time in English!
Simply "dodge, shoot, and destroy" without any extra baggage.
Devil Blade Reboot strictly follows a strict design concept that pursues
catharsis of shmups to the extreme.
But, as they say... no pain, no gain! If you want to enhance your score,
you will have to shoot down enemies in close proximity. The closer they are,
the higher the score multiplier. With the Berserk System,
dangerous play is the way to climb the ladder, as high risk brings high reward.
●Features
【2D pixel art graphics with an obsessive level of detail.】
Rendered in the original native 320x240 resolution of the classics,
but with visuals that defy the limits of pixel art! Experience immersive pseudo-3D,
making use of modern techniques such as multiple parallax scrolling and zoom effects.
【Berserk System】
The closer you let them get, the higher your score will climb!
Dramatically increase the score... and the difficulty, by destroying enemies in close range!
The difficulty level changes drastically depending on the way you play the game.
From beginners who just want to clear the game,
to advanced players chasing the highest score possible,
Devil Blade Reboot is designed to be enjoyed by anyone interested in the genre.
【Retro and Reboot Mode】
While the enhancements of Reboot are visually stunning,
some may want to look back in history to see the origins of Devil Blade. We have you covered.
Included is an Arrange mode of the original "Devil Blade" created in Dezaemon+ in 1996
with the Berserk system added but the original atmosphere preserved.
Experience this retro recreation of a classic shmup,
delivered here for the first time outside of Japan.

User Reviews
Really fun shmup. Really enjoying it on my Steam Deck and at home.
Your delusions of grandeur end here, Titan!
Devil Blade Reboot is, so far, my favorite indie STG. I wanted to wait to write a review until I got the Hard 1cc and sure enough, here it is! Please buy this game and support Shigatake's career as a solo dev. As a newcomer I couldn't be happier to call it my first Arcade Difficulty 1cc.
Not exactly what I wanted. Its a good shmup dont get me wrong, but after playing it, I just realized how much I want to play Aleste Musha again, and how much it pisses me off with how much ''Sega Genesis collections'' were re-re-released to have the same bloody games on it, like how many Altered Beasts do we need?! So Devil Blade, a pretty accessible shmup, that doesnt melt your eyes like some bullet hells, with a pretty good ost.
Holy hell this is one of the best looking shmup i've played. That intro cut scene to the level change cut scene, it all just looks amazing - reminds me a bit of R-Type 3 for the SNES. Its also not "clunky" with all these weird settings that a lot of other shmup games have. Everything just works smoothly out of the box. Gameplay is quite easy to pickup on too, everything just feels right. And those enemy design and animations are top notch. Definitely enjoying this one.
oh yteah its good
Don't play hard mode pls
10/10 One of the best shmup games of all time. Simple and nothing convoluted but with depth and challenge to keep you engaged for the whole ride. The graphics are amazing and I wish more developers would make games in this style. The music is godtier. I got this for $12 but at full price it's still a steal in this economy.
Hot damn that was fun. Why didn't I play this sooner?!!
