Decent game, it literally is just Three Kingdoms but more so if you enjoyed the first game you'll also like this. I wasn't expecting a sequel to ever exist just cause the first game ends right after the Battle of Red Cliffs which I felt was a reasonable point to cut things off, since in history Guan Yu is killed years after the fact. With this game, they go up to the Battle of Wuzhang Plains with all the key figures from the first game kept alive. For positives, the story is cool and felt engaging throughout most of it. Outside of all the characters who got to return, there are plenty of great additions to the cast with faces from Field Day, Baseball, Fighting Legend, Super Sports Challenge DS, Nekketsu Koha Kunio-kun Special, Riki Densetsu, Tokyo Rumble, and Rival Showdown. I gave up. The game play is poorly executed. Repeated fights again and again with the same enemy. The progress to story line is boring. You have to talk to someone, then go to another town, back and forth many many many times.
I love river city games a ridiculous amount and I had no idea this sequel released to the three kingdoms variant. Getting this one, it is an upgrade in every way. Still not as good as river city ransom dx for the gba, but very good. I enjoy the tactics, red hare, and the item usage.
