I'm conflicted on whether to recommend this or not. I expected a game similar to the fashion games I used to play on the DS. DIY Fashion Star is not that, though. It's a simple, colorful and straight-forward dress-up game that took me back to the days of online dress-up minigames. It has good enough graphics and the gameplay is relatively easy. However, that's also in it's detriment: it's repetitive and doesn't really tempt you to play it for more than a few hours. The missions are so randomly assigned that you get missions requiring clothes you won't unlock until the end of the "story". You get nothing for going up in rank in the leaderboard. The selfie/photo battles are so randomly scored that you never know if you'll get a good rating. The DLC barely adds anything to the game. You can't change backgrounds, time or objects.
