About This Game

Astro Looter is an combination of roguelike, survival and tower defense with mining element. Follow armored heroes like the domineering Storm Striker, Air Colonel, or Trauma Specialist across various planets to plunder regional minerals. Utilize weapons, orbital bombardments, airdropped defense towers, and lucky airdrops to eliminate the ever-emerging alien bugs and retreat successfully. Upgrade your equipment with the plundered minerals and explore a variety of habitable planets. This is a very challenging game, with few people making it past the first level.

Features include:

5 alien maps with unique terrains such as jungles and blue deserts.
7 hero armors equipped with a variety of super skills like electromagnetic storms to clear alien creatures on a large scale.
Upgrade options include lucky cards that unlock powerful abilities like orbital lasers as you gain experience.
5 upgradeable weapons including distinctive firearms like rifles, shotguns, and lightning guns.
5 types of orbital airdropped defense towers, including machine gun or laser towers with different attack modes.
In difficult levels that challenge you, pick up lucky airdrops to help you successfully overcome the obstacles!

You rarely see any roguelite 3D game that combines tower defense aspects and mining elements. It’s definitely a new experience for fans of action roguelike or tower defense games.

the game is cool and original. despite this it has two major issues that need remedy before I would consider spending any length of time with it. there are no loot\exp\money or achievement incentive rewards for playing on a higher difficulty making it pointless beyond personal challenge and accessibility. there is no reason to play on the hardest difficulty in this game, a difficulty I would rather be playing at, since all it spells is more time dumped into a game thats basically just a game to grind and call it quits on. I didn't notice leaderboards or anything that would give this game longevity beyond the quick self stroke. it's pretty competent in the areas it delivers in. the objective based take on the genre is fairly fresh as I mostly find myself falling asleep to a lot of other bullet heaven\auto battler\vampire survivor likes whatever you wanna callem, this on the other hand kept me interested. instead of holding down a direction for 20 minutes and scanning a minimap for picku...

Astro Looter: Survivor is a fast-paced, top-down survival shooter that manages to blend several genre mechanics into a tight and surprisingly engaging gameplay loop. From the very first drop onto an alien planet, the game makes its intentions clear—you are outnumbered, under constant pressure, and armed only with what you can gather, build, and adapt to. It’s a roguelike at heart, but instead of throwing you into random dungeons, it drops you into hostile planets teeming with insectoid enemies, mineral-rich environments, and the ever-present need to balance offense with survival. Each mission is a gauntlet of aggressive waves, frantic mining, and on-the-fly tower defense decisions. What immediately stands out about Astro Looter: Survivor is how confidently it fuses its mechanics. It’s not just about shooting hordes of enemies or gathering loot—it’s also about smart positioning, timing your tower placements, and making critical upgrades under pressure. You control a variety o...

The demo played just fine the game itself is not more than the demo. It has several issues that really made it an unpleasant experience: 1. the control scheme is fixed and you cannot change it. 2. the grinding is tedious and the upgrade results are minimal, almost unnoticeable. 3. the fact that the weapons have little impact is not helping bringing in the fun factor. 4. The long recharge times and lack of auto aiming is quite annoying. It can be partially mitigated with certain upgrades 5. the fact that if you choose not to held the weapon pressed you will always make random choices when you level up because the frantic clicking will press one of the choices, really poor game design. If the game would be further refined maybe is worth buying it with a massive discount , like i did. Otherwise there are plenty of fun games to play.

Unfortunately, I have to thumbs down this one for bugs, which many other reviews also report. Key presses are locked when ever the level up / perk chooser UI pops up. So suddenly you can't walk in a given direction until you release the key and repress it. That might sound simple but since it works in every other game of this nature, it's really annoying. Your weapon will also occasionally lock firing in a direction other than where the guide/aim is pointed. The hotkey for upgrade Heroes doesn't work, nor does it show the stat increases like it does for weapons/turrets. Plenty of other issues that keep this from being fun.
