NO RETREAT
This game is a Strategic game on the Eastern Front of World War II.
It is a digital port from the famous and eponym boardgame, No retreat!, designed by Carl Paradis, which retells the story of the titanic struggle between the invading armies of Nazi Germany versus Communist Russia during WW2 at a player-friendly and manageable level of scope and difficulty. With only 70 Army/Front sized counters for the whole campaign, and with very low stacking, it’s a quick-playing yet realistic affair that favours the strategic and offensive-minded player.
The moderate complexity of the game, the light number of armies and the contained size of the map allows easier onboarding, fast play and fun experience.

In a skillfully blended collation of classic hex-based wargaming and modern card-driven simulations, No Retreat: The Russian Front stays truly story-centric, providing the proper feel of sweeping maneuvers, exploitation and encirclements across the vast steppes and forests of Russia.
With a simple-yet-innovative economic model, players will also feel the growing might and sophistication of the Russian’s Red Army, and the degradation of the once-invincible German Wehrmacht, over the epic four year sweep of time that this merciless campaign was fought.
See the Axis hordes deeply invade Russia and encircle ill-prepared Soviet units.
Watch the Red army resist and slowly acquire experience to finally push back the Germans up to Berlin !
Each turn is alight with intriguing on-board challenges plus the surprise of 55 cards hand Events as players vie to win in one of three different ways.

User Reviews
This great WWII strategy boardgame has been brillantly ported to computer by Cyril Jarnot. You could feel the thrill of the dark times of Barbarossa operation back to the Red Army rolling back to Berlin. The mechanics of the game are simple but true to the spirit of the original game and thus efficient for players. It seems easy to complete but it requires lots of strategy and ahead thinking if you want to prevail. That's exactly what we expect, isn't it ?
I am not familiar with the board game and haven't played physical card and hex wargames for a good number of years. My initial impression was the that the map was quite small, but the game plays very well, with encirclaments possible and woe betide you, if you overstretch your supply lines. The AI is more than capable of taking advantage of this and cutting you off. I would say that the earlier negative criticisms about the UI being a mess were justified. However, in my opinion this has improved considerably, with regular updates from the developers. Keep up the good work :-)
