I played Shamania's demo through to the end of the content and really enjoyed it. The game had the bones of a simplistic yet relaxing survival crafter. So why the downvote? Because this the demo with a price tag slapped on it. Nothing has changed from the demo save the addition of one portal to a new boss. The game was already barebones. The map is pitifully small, being able to be traversed from one end to the other in about 90 seconds, two minutes tops. None of which I minded because hey it's a demo right? I'm really taken aback by this one. I feel like I got bamboozled into buying the demo I had already completed. In the demo announcement the devs said quote: "The demo gives you a sneak peek into the game’s core mechanics and features" In the May 19th news update they said "The demo was just a small glimpse of what’s to come." This isn't a case of Early Access buyers remorse. One buys a game, EA or full release, expecting more content than the demo provided.

It feels like this game was made by a single person (maybe it is) using a tutorial guide, and unfortunately, this is not a compliment. The world is uninteresting to explore, and the NPCs are very silly and primitive. The graphics are not bad, but they are not outstanding. The survival mechanics are monotonous, and there is nothing new to see. The game is in its early stages, and I do not know how it will develop in the future, but I would not recommend purchasing it in its current state. Only if there is a big discount.

I’ve put in 7.4 hours so far and still have 6 achievements left to unlock in Early Access, and I can confidently say this game is off to a strong start. The balance between combat and player progression makes for a rewarding challenge, and with the current cap at level 20, you can grind at your own pace to unlock everything. And really, that’s how a true survival game should feel—if it were too easy to rush through gathering and progression, it wouldn’t capture that satisfying survival grind. With 35+ years of gaming experience and having worked with other developers and publishers, I can honestly say the team at Totem Keepers Games has been one of the easiest and most engaging to connect with. They’re active in their Discord, always open to feedback, and encourage players to be part of the journey. Sure, a little polish on movement and hitbox accuracy while gathering or fighting NPCs would improve things, but that’s exactly what Early Access is for. Half the fun of a new...

played 35 minutes. Seems to be good, obviously a bit raw at the moment, I feel the leveling system needs to be balanced as i have gone up like 15 levels in 35 minutes. But otherwise impressed so far and looking forward to the future

Feels like a phone style game with questing. Game is simplistic easy to learn with very limited character customization. Combat is easy nothing to demanding. Gameplay is kind of smooth hunger works doesn't appear like thirst is working yet. Overall it was enjoyable 7/10.

This game is as early access as they come. Not too much to do yet, and the instructions on what to do are... lacking. Luckily it is easy enough to guess at what to do, and it is a nice little semi cozy game to kill some time in. You level up quickly, and there are skill trees that one day might make more sense. Even with the negatives, I see a lot of potential in this game. I love cozy survival/ crafting, and that seems to be what this will become. Buy it on sale for now, or wait while it cooks- I hope it becomes something great

I'm not recommending this game after playing it for 5 hours. You start out with nothing and nearly all your activity revolves around the Obelisk which you build at the very beginning; it's where you're given all the progression tasks that enable you to build your simple base and craft basic gear. You'll spend nearly 95% of your time collecting resources for this very purpose. The world is super tiny as you can pretty much run around the whole map in maybe 5 minutes. You'll encounter very few monsters in the game - spirits, wolves, chickens, cactus, mushrooms, and spiders, That's seriously it. Combat is repetitive and dull. Each monster will attack after about 5 seconds. So if you time rolls properly, you can avoid most damage. You supposedly can buy four spells but there doesn't seem to be a tab within the character page that lists them. So there's no way to add them to your hot bar.

I personally love what is there right now. For EA it has a lot of stuff and I can see it becoming a really great simple and fun game. Is this something you should get if you are a survival hardcore player: No. Is this a really fun little hidden gem to play with your partner to just chill, build and with simple combat: Yes! Every game doesn't have to do the most, sometimes you just want a simple game to waste time in, and to me this game is on its way to become that game. Easy combat, easy crafting system and adorable graphics. To me for the money especially on sale is deffo worth it. Great game to play with your partner for a cosy gaming night.
