Mechanically sound for the most part and equipped with quality-of-life improvements, but it isn't as mysterious, so it feels rather uncompelling for someone coming straight after playing the original. The game features a tutorial and explains the importance of using the right mouse button on inventory items from the very beginning. It appears using right click on surroundings is no longer required for progress, as opposed to the original. The game minimises loss of progress by auto-saving right before "fatal" interactions and at the beginning of every chapter; there is only one auto-save slot, however. There is a dedicated key for skipping cutscenes, and quick scene transitions can be performed with a double click. Most of the game takes place in a different location, and there is a new story with new and familiar characters alike. However, the plot is a bit too slow to unfold and unconvincing in places. Some locations from the previous game are revisited for pretty contrived reasons...
