About the Game

Step into a brutal battle between three warring factions

In Dawn of War III you will have no choice but to face your foes when a catastrophic weapon is found on the mysterious world of Acheron.

With war raging and the planet under siege by the armies of greedy Ork warlord Gorgutz, ambitious Eldar seer Macha, and mighty Space Marine commander Gabriel Angelos, supremacy must ultimately be suspended for survival.

UNLEASH THE GIANTS

Take control of towering war machines and tip the balance of battle in your favor with the biggest characters in Dawn of War history. Turn the tide with the mighty Imperial Knight (Space Marine), the clattering Gorkanaut (Ork), or the haunting Wraithknight (Eldar).

COLOSSAL BATTLES

Dawn of War is famous for its epic action and those immense clashes are back - but now they're off-the-scale. Wage war with massive armies across violent volcanic terrain or mighty orbital Star Forts.

CALL UP YOUR ELITES

Take your battle plans to another level by deploying powerful collectible elite squads, each boasting their own special abilities and bonuses that will help you unlock and develop new attacking strategies to conquer your foes.

DESTRUCTIVE ABILITIES

Cause devastation on the battlefield with powerful super-abilities. Rain down total destruction on your enemies with the Space Marine's Orbital Bombardment, the Eldar's blistering Eldritch Storm or the Ork’s Rokks to counter your unsuspecting rivals.

THREE-FACTION CAMPAIGN

Learn what makes each force formidable through alternating missions. You'll soon come to understand the combat advantages of Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar and the rules of a universe with no heroes or villains… only war.

A NEW DAWN ONLINE

Your army will wreak havoc online. Join the multiplayer community and forge new alliances - or turn the tables on your new 'friends' as they become foes in explosive, chaotic and competitive maps.

ONE ARMY TO RULE

Customize your own universal army from the very first moment you are matched in a melee. Progress through battle after battle with loyal troops by your side across both challenging campaign missions and dominating multiplayer maps.

Dawn of War III is the classic "cash grab third installment" curse in action, joining the infamous ranks of Sacred 3, Dead Space 3, and countless other franchises that forgot what made them special. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. The gameplay got dumbed down into a MOBA-RTS hybrid that pleases nobody. The plot feels like generic Warhammer fanfiction. The campaign forces you through all three races in rotation instead of letting you pick your poison. Characters are cardboard cutouts with zero personality or depth. Base building? What base building. You get glorified control points and basic unit production. Strategy? Just spam heavy units from any faction and watch them steamroll everything. The cover system that made Dawn of War II tactical and engaging? Butchered beyond recognition. The game launched with only three races and died so fast that Relic cancelled all DLC within a year. Players abandoned it for the two decade-old Dawn of War from 2004. This isn't just disa...

I went into this thinking, "surely it can't be that bad" little did i know, it was that bad. honestly that 1.7hrs on record was painful. DoW1 goat. DoW2 experimented with the CoH formular, it kinda didn't work but I still liked it. DoW3 is just bad. Relic must be feeling the pain given that DoW4 is developed by another studio, which is deserved given this flop.

Good: Graphics and multiplayer gameplay. Bad: Boring campaign and just three factions.

Right so here's the deal; this game is not terrible as people have said. HOWEVER, there are a lot of things that they did that really hurt this instead of moving the game forward. -No cover system; this game feels more akin to Warcraft 3 rather than Company of Heroes. Even the first one felt like Age of Empires 2. -3 races: Space Marines, Orcs, and Eldar. All the others? Poof, no more. Sorry if you liked the Imperial Guard or Chaos -This game puts more of a focus on "hero" units rather than squads that make up the army, Dawn of War 2 did this the best as there was no reliance on Heroes. This one, you need them to win. -No flanking, no tactics, this game just feels like build more than your opponent and spam the heroes' powers to win. Is there anything good about it? Well, yes there seems to be improvements from 2 to 3 that do change the game again. -Base building is better in this one than 2. -The points can be reinforced with listening posts and defenses again. -The game looks pret...

This is perhaps the perfect Warhammer 40,000 video game. I still remember how thrilled my friend and I were about the trailer when it came out, the promise and luster of the new visuals and modern engine. Sure, it would probably be mired in microtransactions like Company of Heroes 2 but the campaign would rock. If you're reading this, you're probably reading other reviews here, too, detailing all the ways in which it failed, and those things are all true. Why I'm leaving this negative review is because of a ghost, the specter of the game this could have been. Every tab in the menu feels empty, unfinished, and yet polished to a production sheen. And that, to me, is a great vibe for a warhammer game.

After the hype from the game awards for DOW 4, i decided to revisit this to see if was as bad as I remember. Currently on offer at -80% off, this is the only option I can recommend this. the campaign is short and shallow. There are only three armies- Space Marines, Orks and Eldar. While there are a depth of options to choose in your army loadout, the lack of army options and flexibility mid game make this an extremely tactically watered down experience. This should be considered a miss.

Came back and played after seeing the DoW IV trailer and it was fun for 30 mins or something and it was just sadness after that. Here are my problems with the game: - only 3 factions (didnt even bother to make a DLC) - units are basically cannon fodder while the "heroes" and actual characters are just tanky 1 man/unit army - none of the environmental covers like the ones in DoW 1 or 2 and just settled with a capture point cover or stealth area like bushes or smoke - no sync kill - identity crisis cant decide if it wanted to be a Moba or a RTS Though there a things I like about DoW III - graphics seem nice(though a bit small for me to appreciate) - skins for the heroes - Larger scale heroes like the imperial knights - each faction has their own unique mechanic like the Orcs WAAGH, and Space marines drop pods Compared to DoW 1 and 2 this not worth getting fuill price or discounted

Its a good game if you just started playing RTS games meaning it is easy to pick up the mechanics however its just not as good as the previous games of the series.I would sugest you grab the game in a sale or if you are starting out and later you are ready to move to a more complex game
