12/10 🔥🏆 A 2D/3D Open World Platformer/RPG/Metroidvania…because the creators were the best kind of nuts! 🤣 Alot of Playstation owners in the 90s would replay the hell outta the opening of this game on a PS Demo disk, over and over. I was one of those! This game released in ‘97 with an iconic character, killer animations & upbeat music, quirky comedy, and a gameplay style so fresh that nothing like it would be seen until Fez in 2012! Tomba would explore the 2D platformer, with an interconnected open world that would rotate at times to create faux-3D environments. Progression was unlocked by speaking to npcs, completing tasks (required and bonus), collecting items and learning techniques (such as swimming). This game had it all! It's that classic PS1 game that we all knew and loved. It's a faithful remake, maintaining the original look with the option for updated audio and some emulation quality-of-life features, including: quick saving, rewinding, analogue stick controls and CRT screen overlays. Truthfully, the Rewind feature in particularly makes the game much more forgiving, as Tomba remains a very difficult platformer. It's held up surprisingly well, thanks in no small part to the unique art style and slick movement. If you've never played the original, then expect: a classic 2D platformer with some 'metroidvania' elements, that oozes charm and personality. It's an easy pick-up and play.

I have downloaded the game and its quite laggy. My lap top can run much higher spec games so not sure whats causing it, can anyone help?

So this i one of my favourite game of all time not including Tomba 2. Still i play it every other year and am still wondering why 3rd instalment was never made since Tomba 2 expanded over 1 o much. As is awesome game to kill some time.

There are no words to describe this! This game is easily a childhood classic, that has finally been re-introduced to modern platforms, Everything was just how i rememered it & i finally got some ingisht into the development process of Tomba! Definitely a must buy!
