Can't recommend the game at this time. The potion minigame is poorly designed for being such a crucial element of the game. But more than that, there is a game-breaking bug during it that completely ruins your run, by throwing an infinite bone into your ingredients list. What bothers me the most about this is that the dev was made aware of this 4 months ago and has simply ignored it. As of this writing, 2 of the 5 discussion topics for this game are about this, as well as comments in the bug reporting thread, but the dev hasn't acknowledged any of them. It doesn't seem this game has gotten any update since launch. There is also a second game breaking bug other players are having which has likewise gone unaddressed.

About This Game
My Life As an Alchemist turns the Survivor genre on its head by removing all the enemies. In this game, your objective is to brew the ultimate potion but to achieve this, you must first enhance your skills through 10 waves of ingredient harvesting and potion crafting. Failure to concoct a successful potion in any wave will result in defeat.
Take on tougher potion recipes as you progress, pushing your skills to the limit as you venture into trickier biomes to gather ingredients. Chug potions to sprint faster, hit harder or find more and rarer ingredients! But watch out for the wild weather changes with each new wave—tornadoes might swipe your hard-earned fruits or rocks, volcanic eruptions could burn you up, and a full moon will turn you into a beast!
Craft your potions and experiment with adding extra or higher-quality ingredients to the base recipes to boost your stats and unlock extra effects. Test your skills in a challenging mini-game that gets tougher as you progress! Prioritize one potion's quality or try to complete them all!
Pick different characters, artifacts and weapons every run for ever-changing gameplay suited to your style! Every character comes with a different base weapon and artifact, but more can be found along your run, granting drastically different effects. Specialize in one type of resource, of weapon, bringing the maximum quantity of ingredient every wave or simply the best quality, it's up to you!
Complete different achievements in order to unlock more artifacts and more characters for even more varied future runs!

Can't recommend the game right now. There's a bug (?) that happened a couple of times already, where the required resources simply didn't spawn, the map was empty for the most part, and the compass kept pointing to the upper left corner of the map where, again, there's nothing. You automatically lose the run when it happens because there's no way of getting the resources for the potions outside of lucky chests.
The potion making mini game with the cannons are ruining it for me
First, I want to say that it's pretty fun. The core mechanics are refreshing, and there are lots of potions and weapons combos to try out BUT The potions minigame is really annoying. Having to scroll past all the shooting stages in order to shoot a single item bothers the shit out of me. And you can not skip the animations at the end of the minigame. It wouldn't bother me so much if they didn't take a damn year to finish. I could live with those problems, but unfortunately there's a game-breaking bug. As soon as I reached a certain meta progression, stages would spawn their resources out of bounds so that you couldn't reach them and therefore just die. I've had this happen in the last five plays, and it really makes me mad... As soon as it becomes playable again, I'm gonna change this review to positive.
Due to a gamebreaking bug, sometimes requred resources will either not spawn or spawn out of the area in qhich your character can walk. the potion crafting minigame is tiring at best. As it stands right now i cannot recoomend this game until both the resource spawning issue is resolved and some kind of rework is done to the potion crafting minigame.
I agree with the point that the potion minigame needs a rework. The core gameplay is lots of fun, maby make runs a little longer early game? For the price still recommended.
Abandoned by dev with achievement and gameplay breaking bugs. spend your money elsewhere
(my actual playtime is longer than what's shown. It's closer to 2.5 or 3 hours) The price would be perfectly fine, since there's actually a decent game here, if not for the fact that it's hidden underneath a pile of horrible bugs and strange UX decisions. The biggest issue is the softlock bug that happens almost every single game with the shooting minigame, and the fact that this bug hasn't been addressed in the last 2+ months since its release. But that is far from the only problem. Another bug is that the "wave countdown" will sometimes bug out, causing the audio of the countdown to finish twice as fast as the visual (and "real") countdown for the wave, which also causes the screen to go super dark the whole wave. Then there's another bug that stops the tooltips that explain the stats from popping up. This bug happened so often that I never got to read the majority of the tooltips. Apparently there's also another bug that just stops some resources from spawning, though I never wen...
so i have 3 ponts - its a fun idea - it needs more its too simple for the 5 euro price -in its curent state its unplayeble as it constantly softlocks
Fun for a few minutes, but gets boring so fast... Is cheap though Potion crafting minigame is really annoying in the current state and weapons are no fun to use.
