This game is great. It totally reminds me of the VGA remake of Quest For Glory 1, down to the 3 character classes. Also it's FREE. The voice acting isn't bad at all. If you grew up on Sierra games with your sweet 640KB of RAM courtesy of MS-DOS, you'll be right at home. Luckily, QEMM isn't required.

About This Game
Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok is an adventure / RPG hybrid. Like in many adventure games, you have a world to save, and must use your wit, guile and inventory to puzzle your way through. Like in many roleplaying games, you can customize your character with various classes and skills, and must train yourself in combat to stand a chance against the fierce monsters in your way. Each class has her own solution to the numerous obstacles, where the warrior is the most straightforward to play, the sorceress focuses on smart solutions and finding the right spell for the situation, and the rogue cheats her way through life without getting caught.
The game is designed in the spirit and atmosphere of the classics, and strives to have the same high quality of art, music, and plot. With multiple character classes and several solutions to many puzzles, there are plenty of options for further replayability. The game has been voted voted 69th All-Time Best Computer RPG by RpgCodex. It is available completely for free, or as we like to call it, priceless.

First of all, I don't find retro point and click games appealing to me, including this one. I'm sure it's a pretty decent game for fans that used to play and are still playing such games. However, I find it quite boring as the story is like every other RPG and the gameplay is bad. At least it has some great music.
3/10
An excellent homage to the Quest for Glory games. Good puzzles, interesting characters, and a fun lighthearted take on Norse mythology. Frankly, I want to see more games like this! Gimmee!
An insanely accurate and fun homage to the age of DOS adventure games. Start with a ton of Quest for Glory, tenderize with a healthy dose of King's Quest, sprinkle a few flakes of rubbing two unlikely items together (in the fashion of Monkey Island) and you end up with a game I would dare to call both neat and also sharp.
This free game is in fact a fully realised point'n'click adventure which I think rivals even the best commercial entries in the genre. It is a wondrous passion project and beautiful homage to Sierra's classic Quest for Glory series. The production values are what you'd expect from a professional release in every conceivable way. Players are treated to glorious 2D art, fully voiced charcaters with commendable performances, beautifully orchestrated score and superb writing, world building and overall game design. And it's what I'd call a 'full-length' adventure. So many point'n'clicks nowadays (especially free ones) are quite short, but Heroine's Quest took me 25 hours which provides ample opportunity to feel deeply immersed in its world. And of course there's 2 more character classes should I decide to play through again sometime down the track. I'm a point'n'click enthusiast from way back and the QfG series, particularly 1 & 4, was my very favourite. Heroine's Quest crafts an origi...
Nice take on the Quest for Glory series with some extra RPG elements. If you like old Sierra games then I can't recommend this highly enough.
Good old fashioned rpg. Takes you back to the old Sierra Quest for Glory (QFG) games, which I loved. There are so many things about this game that remind me of the QFG games. If you love the old QFG games, you'll love this one.
AT first I enjoyed it, especially because I both like adventure games that don't lead by hand, and also like Norse mythology. But after some time I decided to drop it. I really tried, but I just can't. I'll tell you, there is just one negative feature that simply overweights all good stuff. You can really interact with people and objects only in a few areas, and most of the time you just walk between those areas. And this is way too long and dull. Yes, there is fighting, but it also gets repetitive after a while. I really tried to like the game, I even paid for it, to support developer, but it's just walking in empty areas most of the time. I didn't play original Quest for Glory, but I did play Quest for Infamy - this is the way how you should do action-adventures. And this one, while having great storyline, is way too boring.
7/10 Like in the old days....
This is quite One Woman March that would kick the predator in chief out of his socks. SAD. Graphics +++++ Soundtrack +++++ Voiceacting +++++ Controls ++++++ RPGesque +++++ Goofy +++++ If you play this game you will fel something AMAZING. I won´t tell you what it is. But it´s gonna be YUUGEE! "winky eyes"
