Not recommended, combat is pretty rough, the actions feel extremely delayed, fights with more than two enemies can already get chaotic, falling ofg edges then spawning in the middle of enemies just to get beaten to death happens often. Ranged enemies are an absolute pain im the ass. Parries don't connect...and so on. For me it felt all very messy and even the really pretty visuals cannot make up for this kind of bad gameplay. Really sad, was looking forward to this game but as of now it's just frustrating.

Another game with choppy graphics, and freezing glitches that just stop the game completely. Very disappointed.
Game has potential, but it needs some more work. It seriously lacks audio effects on the enviorment. The ground can be exploading and theres avalances of rocks falling down while you have to flee for your life. Yet not a single sound is made, just some music and some very feint footsteps. Im running the game at a consistent 100fps, but the game still stutters at times which can be annoying. Especially in moments when you need precise movements. And falling down and dying can set you back quite a bit. for 39 bucks it can be worth it for some people. But it wasn't for me.
This is a qualified recommend. The game itself is a solid AA game. Good maybe Great Story, excellent characters, world building, environments and acting. Good not great writing. Overall game play loop is well done, well paced and engaging. Combat is very hard. Enemies are very aggressive and hit fairly hard. Actually great enemy AI, the enemies in this game are ruthless. Puzzle platforming was also quite challenging at times, and very creative. Overall a really solid AA game. Now for the but.... -Performance is bad. Really bad. -Some false advertising - games lists partial Dual Sense Support (there isn't) game lists frame generation but its only available for FSR 3.1 -Ackwardly unique control system that you cannot rebind on the controller. -Unwieldly camera! Feels like a PS2 game. Camera follow takes way too long basically useless in std mode you have to constantly micromanage the camera. When locked on its better but your character encircles the enemy very t...
OK, JUST finished the game at 14.3 hours. I'm writing this review as both a game developer and gamer. I'll start at this as a gamers perspective, then provide developer feedback. ******GAMER FEEDBACK****** Pros: -Overall the story was well above average, i'd give it an 8/10 for sure. That alone makes it worth playing -By the end I really enjoyed the characters, even the villain -Combat is simple but very engaging, by the end of it I could do quite a few things to just obliterate the enemies while it still remained slightly challenging -Puzzles are extensive and thought provoking in many cases -The world is EASILY one of the most beautiful I've seen done and their vistas and scenes where they show it off clearly shows that the visuals was one of their main focuses Cons: -Character building was slow to start and a bit rough with the MC and her brother, story was slow to get fully engaging due to the overuse of puzzles in the beginning -They relied too heavily on puzzles, likely to incr...
i just started it seems to need a little bit of optimization fixes and its quite grainy it stutters at times but when i first entered combat I felt where they put the time in and it shows, the combat feels heavy (in a good way not like ur hitting somebody with a pool noodle like some action rpgs). I will continue playing this game and update my review to see if its just the starting area that's poorly optimized.
Got a refund. Not a bad game! Just needs some polish to improve performance.
Just finished chapter 8, so I feel I played enough to give it a review. I'm very much enjoying this game and would recommend to others especially for the price that it is. Story: Nice, nothing super new but overall is a decent story with decent characters. The story pacing is great, nothing seems rushed and it works well. As a note one of the big secrets about your companion was so obvious that I cannot believe not everyone just saw it coming. It is set in a complete fake fantasy world, I'm not really seeing any Icelandic myths or themes here as the god and myths in the world seem fully made-up, the only icelandic thing is that the enemies have nordic names and some of the environment has some nordic inspirations. But honestly, the enemies aren't like super unique either. However, each chapter you will get introduced to one or two new enemies and then they will cycle through them as the story progresses. So please ignore the trolls who have an issue with a lady with a tan being in a...
With Echoes of the End, Myrkur Games have built an incredibly beautiful and intriguing world. You don't have to play the game for long to see that this is a passion project that the team have poured their hearts into. That is also well reflected by their quick response to the feedback they have received thus far, putting out three individual patches over the first four days that the game has been out, addressing the biggest source of complaints with more patches expected in the near future. The game is in fact so beautiful and well made that it has become a bit of a double edged sword: While playing it, you can't help but compare it to the likes of God of War, Horizon, and other similar AAA action adventure series. However, Myrkur is a much smaller company and by no means AAA, and so you won't find quite the same amount of polish in Echoes of the End. To give some examples of things that might stand out in this regard I can name things such as equipment clipping into a character's h...
seems interesting, camera is weird, runs like shit, wait for patches
