A delightful modernized homage to the NES classic Solstice. This isometric, one room at a time metroidvania adventure game has three difficulty levels to suit all levels of players, whether you're looking for a punishing speedrun version where one missed input could mean the end of your completionist run, or a more casual (but still plenty challenging) stroll through the forest (and temple, and...) as you explore the beautifully crafted Isle of Souls.

This is excellent. I had a lot of fun trying to find all of the secrets in collaboration with a friend who was also getting stuck. It looks a lot like Solstice for the NES, but I haven't got around to playing that one so can't speak to how similar it actually is. Oolo reminded me of Animal Well but isometric, with its tricky platforming and puzzles (with a little bit of cryptic thrown in). Also reminded me of games like Fez, Master Key and the isometric platforming in more distant relatives like Little Big Adventure or Crystal Project. Oolo also looks a lot like Elephantasy: Flipside. That was an isometric game that I dropped because I found it frustrating to discern where platforms were, because the isometric view obfuscates where everything actually is. Frequently you think you're going to make a jump to discover that the platform you were aiming for is in a completely different place to where you thought it was....

I've always been a big fan of the game Solstice on the NES, and this is arguable one of the best modern takes on it. Lots of nimble isometric platforming, a large world chock full of secrets, and even some pretty tricky puzzles towards the end if you're going for full completion. The addition of metroidvania-style upgrades further enhances the game. Overall, a great experience.

I beat Solstice. I don't need to play on no 'Casual' difficulty. Don't be like me.

Oolo has been an awesome experience so far, testing my platforming abilities and gamer endurance in an old school way. If you want the vibes of 1990 with some 2025 quality of life mixed in, this is 100% the game for you. The exploration has been delightful with every new discovery feeling fresh and unexpected and the challenges often had me scratching my head in wonder as to how to pull some of the maneuvers off. But nothing beats that Soulslike "aha" moment when you finally put 2 and 2 together and overcome the room. A must play for anyone who wants to see exploration in its purest form.

100%'d in ~10 hours. Very fun time, only major gripe is a lot of platforming before unlocking double jump could be annoyingly precise, while all the platforming and enemy encounters after unlocking it was pretty simple.

An absolutely charming and whimsical game. It oozes with personality and style, you can feel the dev has put their heart into this game and it shows. It's an homage to older games but tbh I think I'm too young to have played any of them. To me this feels like a breath of fresh air. A beautiful blend of story, puzzles, quirky characters and lite platforming. Works well enough on keyboard, even tho it highly recommends controller.

Oolo is a true love letter to the isometric adventure games of the 80s. If that sounds like your jam, I think you're going to love this!

Just started playing, but really digging the nostalgic vibes and creative puzzly platformy stuff so far. I can see a lot of potential with new items coming in over time, and it's all so clearly crafted with love. If you enjoy exploring whimsically weird worlds and troublesome temples, definitely give Oolo a try!
