Years and years ago, I owned a disc copy of Crimes Of War. Expecting it to be an unbearably bad game that I'd just throw on for a bit and have a laugh, I was surprised to find it was actually way more fun than it had any right to be. Fast-forward to 2025, and reminiscing about this old game I come to find that not only is listed it on Steam under a different name (ie. its original one), but so is a prequel I had no idea existed. I gave the first UberSoldier a go before revisiting this one, and it honestly didn't fill me with confidence. It wasn't just rose-tinted glasses - this game is definitely terrible, but it's also incredible. Playing the first game before revisiting the second actually gave me a pretty good perspective when coming back into it...

I wanted to play it during my First Person Shooter binge, but held off until I played the first game. Going into the game, I knew I could not compare it with the likes of the original Medal of Honor or Call of Duty games, and it was a good thing I didn't. Did it have its flaws and quirks? Oh yes. But it was still an enjoyable experience. UberSoldier II was simply a game that anyone could pick up and enjoy, despite its quirks. It does help going into it, however, not expecting it to be on equal footing as some of the bigger and better WW2 FPS games out there. The story, just like in UberSoldier, is nothing too spectacular. In fact, though I tend to pride myself in remembering details in stories, movies, and games, UberSoldier was so forgettable that I struggled to remember anything pertinent to it. The same could be said about the sequel. If an...
