The Talos Principle: Reawakened

I've just completed the new module "In the beginning" in TP: Reawakened. First, let me say how beautiful the graphics are in the entire remake. In the Beginning, you are contemporary with Alexandra and the team, as they create the programs (you are the Beta test, basically). The story is very thought-provoking, and as someone with Stage-4 metastatic cancer, and dealing with my own mortality - this game touched me to my very heart. It is absolutely my favorite! It felt like I'm was being watched-over by Alexandra, herself. On a technical level - beware. Some of the puzzles in ITB are mind-bending / complex. But they are all extremely satisfying when you solve them. I give the highest recommendation to Talos Principle: Reawakened ! Even if you have the originals, you have to see and play this remake/improved/enhanced version.

(10/10) The Talos Principle is one of the most critically acclaimed puzzle games of all time. With its unique narrative and thought-provoking puzzles, to simply say this game is “good” would be an understatement. Despite its popularity, I would still call it underrated. The gameplay of The Talos Principle features one of the most unique puzzle systems I have seen in a video game. Unlike Myst or The Room, it takes a more Portal-like approach, starting off simple and gradually introducing new mechanics. You begin with a physics engine, red and blue lasers, and connection points that the lasers must hit to solve puzzles. At first it seems straightforward, but with the introduction of fans, boxes, and small robots that can lift lasers, the puzzles grow more complex and intriguing. What The Talos Principle achieves with its puzzles, something I feel even Portal 2 did not quite capture, is the sheer depth of its challenges. [h1]Amazing puzzle game with pumped up graphics![/h1] When i first time played the second game and saw those first levels inspired by the original game (which is my favorite part of the second game lol) i wrote to the devs about Remake of the first game on same fidelity level as the second. They exceed my expectations! Excellent remaster with multiple quality of life improvements and extra DLC that is not available for the Original Release. Developer commentary is great, but does contain spoilers for the sequel, so enable them after completing the story. Unless your PC cannot handle Unreal Engine 5, _this_ is the version to buy and play. == Review of the Original Release == PTSD: The Game. Engine is from Serious Sam. Resources and architecture is from Serious Sam. Enemies are suicide bombers (obviously). Player gets no guns. Ok, you get an axe later in the game (spoilers). Puzzle gameplay is very solid. The amount of items and mechanics provides enough variety while retaining ability to brute-force some of the puzzles if you lack any specific ideas. Later in the game some items need to be placed pixel-perfect to connect all the lazers which is a bit frustrating, but it's a valid way to ramp up the difficulty by making some lazer layouts not obvious. The story... is good i guess....

The puzzles are unique and challenging without being too tedious or frustrating. Highly recommend for fans of puzzle games!

If your system can run Unreal Engine than this is a fantastic upgrade or even first outing with the series. Also the five second rewind and pause feature are life savers.

A nice remake of the original in which they have smoothend several issues in the previous game and overhauled the graphics. The puzzles are as fun as before and there are some new ones this time around.

A brilliant remaster of one of the smartest puzzle games ever made. The visuals have been completely upgraded in Unreal Engine 5, performance is solid, and the new In the Beginning chapter plus the built-in puzzle editor make this the definitive edition. If you enjoy clever puzzles, deep atmosphere, and a story that makes you think about life and consciousness, this is a must-play.
