So, I played it on launch, absolutely loved it to bits, and for the longest time it felt like I was the only one. Then the switch-a-roo happened: it became some kind of cult classic, big YouTubers made videos about how secretly cool it is and everything, and by the time I went around to write a little something about it - it feels like I am preaching to the choir. Oh well. But first of all - if you’re looking for nothing but a decent cover shooter, I would really look elsewhere because Dog Days is really not it. As a shooter, it falls apart, and I’m not ready to write it off as a "this is bad on purpose, you guys" authorial intent. Gunplay is unsatisfying and feels wooden, your guns are comically inaccurate beyond reason, it’s glitchy as hеll, your character kind of controls like аss, and all that. Played it a long time ago never actually beat it but its actually pretty good I like it. And the occasional crash doesnt bother me

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days was initially disliked by critics and always kept my eye during it's 360 and PS3 release days but I never bought it and played it until this year. The game's entire premise is an insanely surreal home-video compilation, from the pits of a hellscape in Shanghai. I believe it's inspired by the 2000's-today's era of LiveLeak shock sites/videos a curious internet browser would come across and explore, video by video. The attention to detail in that specific setting and theme of the game alone makes it one of the most unique gaming experiences I've ever played. The trailers on YouTube, nearly fifteen years later are superb marketing strategies and intrigued me even more heavily on trying this game out. While a typical 2010's cover shooter, the plot of the game showcasing the two total screw-ups of human beings as Kane and Lynch kept me wanting more and more as I went through their 48 hours of absolute hell.
