About the Game

Give your brew a unique name, experiment to discover special traits, and ensure your ales reach unprecedented popularity! Dive into a vast array of over 20 European styles, meticulously choosing the equipment that best suits your needs. Adjust the quantity, quality, and mash temperature to blend the perfect brew. Decide whether to store it for aging, or sell it at the market. Put your trust in your monks’ brewing skills, and let them create the holy ale.

Make sure your monastery prospers and ascends to glory! Above ground, build living quarters for your holy crew, production hubs like Libraries and Breweries, and some all-purpose spaces, including the Refectory and the Abbot's Office. Beneath these heavenly floors, it's all about your monastery’s cold cellars (the most sacred of spaces for your brews). Design, build, and turn your monastery into a hub of holy hops!

It's not only about crafting ales, it's about curating a brewing legacy. At Ale Abbey, happy monks will need more than just a good workplace, they will require a steady flow of tasty ales. But that's not all! Appease Lords, befriend neighboring Abbeys, and handle bandit encounters... A tale of challenges unveils in the frothy world of Ale Abbey!

It markets itself as running an Ale brewery the way you want to. The reality is you're at the mercy of what the algorithm wants, and there's really very little freedom in what you make. On top of that, it's a constant paycheck-to-paycheck living. This is not fun for me, it's a micromanaging nightmare of a chore. :(

This game is good until I see the new town is unavailable due for future update, so I have to stop playing... Seriously, things that bug me: 1. Too much recipes to organize. Hope it can be sorting by name. 2. Try different ingredients but many are expensive ends up losing money or being bad quality. 3. Due to point 2, everything is Pale Malt. 4. What does cold cellar do? 5. The selling price increase of aged ale doesn't seem to reflect on prediction? 6. Sometimes weekly sales prediction is a positive number and the town only has this one ale on sale but it does not sell at all and expire. 7. Amber Ale

I'm thoroughly enjoying this game and am now 74 hours in. So far I haven't found any real problems apart from it being totally addictive! I'm loving the music, the graphics and the game play. It can be challenging at times, but that is what makes it more interesting to play. I do find myself saving often now as sometimes I make stupid errors (like selling a brew that was meant to be for a quest!). I also need to pause often just to think through my next steps and to really take an in depth look at the data before making decisions. I haven't found a description of the legends along the top, but I have worked out most already. However, what are the moving blue and yellow bars on the top right hand side for? It is probably something obvious, but an overview at the start would have been useful. I think I worked out it is an abacus showing the days of the week, with the 5 blue bars being Mon-Fri and the two yellow bars being the weekend (Sat & Sun)?

A very promising ale monastery tycoon, currently in late Early Access but already quite playable. Take control of a monastery in the early 16th century (the blessed days right before the prot reformation !), hire monks, develop your own recipes, brew ales, take part in contests, and furnish your abbey ! Despite being in EA, the game is pretty much fully functional, without needing to wait for full release. What's already here (and good) : - Magnificent sprites and art - Beer creation system and monastery building - Many hours of content with simple yet qualitative gameplay What's yet to be added : - Endgame content (which is fine, this is what EAs are for) - A lot of QoL, such as being able to alphabetically sort your ales, or the ability to reject an already accepted contract, for instance, are sorely missed What shouldn't be there : - DEI hires. Mix n' matching whites, blacks, women, etc... in a single monastery makes no sense in a early 16th century south german...

Excellent potential. As a home brewer I really appreciate accurate a lot of the brewing in the game plays out. I hope they bring in the option to experiment with new world styles, I know it doesn't fit the theme but I love dry hoping.

At first, I really liked it. The first two or three hours I was hooked – a simple but nice management game with charming art and music. But sadly, after a while, it just becomes repetitive and boring. There isn’t much variety, and the gameplay loop starts to feel the same over and over again. For its current price, the game is lacking content. It could work great as a one-time pay mobile game, but as a PC title for more then 10 €, it feels rather limited. Overall: not bad, not good – just mediocre. Wait for a sale, then have a few hours of fun.

I play a lot of cozy games. Relaxing sims are my thing. This game has a lot of tasks and micromanagement -- very little of the fire-and-forget or economy balancing that usually makes these games fun. Feels like a lot of chores to me.
