Great game! Great balance of exploration and action. My son and I are really enjoying playing together. I read some of the other reviews. My son and I did not have the same issues with connection. Sending an invite and jumping into the game together has always been easy. The game is saved on my son's computer, so there's no personal progression for me outside of playing with him, but that doesn't bother me. The game can get a bit laggy in areas while in co-op, but lowering the settings seemed to fix it. I understand that's sub-optimal for most people, but having a good gaming session with my son is all I'm worried about, and we get that here.

Very fun game but very short playtime compared to other games at similar price points. Also can't get about 5 achievements without paying more.
The game it self is good, it is fun to play with my son. But the coop online mode is unplayable, a lot of errors to start the coop game. Some times, instead of loading the game, it creates a new game..
The savage planet returns and now that it has tasted human blood it is even more zany! The switch to 3rd person and added local co-op makes this the ideal game to reel in your burgeoning intermediate level gamer partner. Not a lot of hand-holding, but also not terribly difficult. Level design is fun, the worlds are colorful and rich. Humor is heavy handed but also legit funny. Get this game and play this game. We need more games like this in the world!
Played co-op with my husband last night for 2 hours. Trying to continue our save today and the session is failing to load. Just passed the 2 hour mark so I can't even refund it. Buyer beware. Do not buy if you want to play co-op.
This is a hard review to give. I wish, as I often have, that games like this had a "Mixed" recommendation button. This is a game with some strong things to recommend to it for some people - Fun traversal, silly world and creatures, A simple but rewarding combat system, plenty of stuff to find / scan / collect, some fun environmental mechanics, and plenty of amusing flavor text. This is also a game with some equally strong things as turnoffs - Over-the-top "humor" that goes straight over the line of "Crass" and into just plain gross and unfunny, much of the voiced dialogue being both completely unavoidable and incredibly annoying, a cast of completely unlikable and unfunny side-characters (though our Navi for this game does get a pass here), a frustratingly bad mini-map design, and a *bunch* of obtuse enemy, map, and mission designs beside that. There is stuff to recommend IN This game, but just as much that ultimately made me stop playing. If you can ignore the Ultra-Gross-Out hum...
I'm sorry to report that this game is pretty ... bad. I would not advise purchasing, even discounted (I got it at 35% off). For one thing, it is very badly written. The author went for an out there humour tone, but got stupid instead of funny. It did not get me laughing, not even once. There are some overproduced video commercial stuns in there, again not even funny at all. Some are more gross than anything (looking at you, Burger Squirt). Gameplay wise, I felt ill equiped when facing enemies. Your player character is skidding around for some comedic value (again, I did not found it fun) which makes evading enemy attacks a pain. You're supposed to hit some weak points on some monsters, but the clumsy controls sabotage any rewarding feeling you might get out of it. The progression track is also bad. The game holds back on some mechanics that should have been paired from the get go (the whip and tethering points come to mind). Some basic attacks take precedence over more helpful...
Not worth 60$ for 12 hours of co-op content. Whole experience was a buggy mess. Constantly crashing. When selecting my save, would randomly start a new game instead of continuing the current one. Can't be in a separate location from your co-op partner. 6/10 on the game play scale. Essentially a collectathon. They added an update to try and increase replayability, but that really doesn't help much. Maybe if you're going to play it alone, spend the 30$ and get a few more hours out of it.
The 2 words I can use to best describe this game are 'Hidden Gem', reasonable price with lots of fun, cuteness and fresh entertainment🤗.
They aren't even addressing the major issues of their cross-play function and sometimes co-op function not working. They've decided to completely ignore any comment and not address it currently, which seems to be an ongoing theme for this follow up game, when the first one ran extra smooth with co-op. Their server has about 8 -12 supposed employees under the umbrella that supposed have a hand in this game or can answer questions, which all have begun to ignore their bugs submissions reports in the past several days, as well as begin conversations for basic things everyone either google or troubleshooted already by showing up in the server like you didn't already pull your hair out about the games malfunction. When advertising a game, developers and publishers should be advertised as is, this game was clearly not ready for co-op like its previous predecessor. Nor ready for a community. Community response developers will always shine in comparison to people after a cash cow co-op. Go...
