About This Game

Action-packed top down shooter gameplay in a 3D physics environment!

Two game modes:

  • Challenge your friends to a split screen gunplay duel (up to four players). Last man standing wins.
  • Or fight against robot AI enemies in single player or split screen co-op (up to four players).

Key features:

  • 28 weapon modes, each bringing different tactical mechanics.
  • Hold two weapons at any one time. Learn to combine them effectively.
  • Destroy robot spawners in room to room arena challenge combat.
  • Varied enemy types and AI keeps up the challenge. Each enemy uses different weapons and tactics.
  • 5 difficulty settings making the game accessible for all skill levels. Also adapts to the number of players.
  • 25 varied arenas, many featuring randomized features and layouts (hundreds of variations ensuring replayability).
  • Interactive environmental elements such as hoverboards, cannons, player flashlights, bounce pads, pushable spiked walls, elevators, exploding barrels, destructible walls / floors and more.
  • Strong, immersive sound effects.
  • Varied boss battles.

Unique features:
  • 3D environments add verticality in which you can jump or fall, making the gameplay more dynamic than 2D top down shooters.
  • Weapons, health kits and ammo are randomly thrown into the arena by the cheering crowd. Prowl the arena edges to prompt these drops.
  • In both game modes, players who die are automatically respawned as a turret, allowing them to continue taking part in the action.
  • Dead players in co-op mode are fully revived if one surviving player unlocks the next arena room. Keeps all players in the fight.
  • Over two hours worth of original music (combining, rock, metal, industrial, electronica, drum and bass, and dark ambience)
  • Retro visual style prioritizes clarity during gameplay rather than visually overloading the player.
  • Co-op players touch each other to pool and share their combined health.
  • Unique cross-fire mechanic. Co-op players can cross their laser sights to inflict explosion damage on enemies.

After playing this game for a few hrs I had to write a review as this is very fun. GAMEPLAY This game has a unique top down gameplay where you jump up obstacles and fall instead of just running. There are two game modes, you can fight other players or against robots. Fighting other players is really funny at times and it's fast. The main idea of the game is that it is local co-op which makes it great to play with friends and family (I highly recommend playing in multiplayer if possible as it's only split screen and no online play!). Plus you can it play it by yourself, which isn't as fun, but the bot arenas are quite challenging. GRAPHICS I personally don't mind the graphics, but some won't be happy with it (I care more about the gameplay). Also I have found that having really good graphics in split screen games needs a better graphics card. so they have actually done pretty well. Sometimes I see two walls glitching through each other but normally I don't even notice as I get too dis...

This will be a brief writeup [Updated for V1.9] Been a longtime fan of the dev Rob Ager's work in other mediums, and now games Arcade style twin-stick shooter The game is in a great place with update 1.9 I have little to say, except that if it looks interesting to you from the trailers: PLAY IT Game is fun, and has only gotten better with each update Some particular highlights to me from the most recent updates - game is starting to have fantastic visual variety and complexity, now with the randomized enemy appearances. Additionally, some of the enemies are very well animated. This game is becoming quite cool to look at - rough around the edges in places - but it's starting to have a very unique visual style all its own, that I can't say I really see anywhere else - the Alt-Fire mode on the Pistol, with the slow moving bullet that tracks your aim, allowing you to shoot around corners, is a real highlight among the weapons. Almost could be a tool for some light puzzle solving - the co...

8.5 / 10 (early access) GOODS --- Quite a challenge on Single Player (I’ve beaten only three levels on Nightmare Mode, and they were quite tough). And when the game is at its best, it’s really fast paced and frenetic like with the best DOOM levels. --- Lots of good unusual weapons, the top down third person perspective allows these weapons to be used more strategically than a FPS game would. And having hoverboards that hook up with tank like objects is pretty cool. --- Area layout randomisation, which adds a lot to replay value and adds to the challenge. And there is a variety of level design, some areas emphasise on verticality, and some are grounded spatial maps. --- Marvellous electronica soundtrack, so much better than the vast majority of modern movie and game soundtracks. And it has some good sound effects. --- Two player co-op and PvP modes are good fun. MIXED FEELINGS --- At the mo, if you are only playing for single player experience, there’s not as much conten...

From Rob Ager of Collative Learning, To the Death is a great little arena shooter? Isometric action shooter? Not sure how exactly you describe this but it's pretty fun! I hadn't played in over a month, basically since day one release, and on D1 it played okay on steam deck with some graphical weirdness but now its smooth as butter! Looks great, plays great, the arenas now have drone and mech neutral enemies that attack everyone...at least I think it attacks the bot ones. I don't have many friends for co-op but gonna buy a copy for a buddy so its not just me vs bots. for single player, its what I call a great "pick it up put it down" game. meaning if you want to just play a quick game while doing something, especially if you have a steam deck, its perfect because a match lasts just a few minutes. I've never joined a game so early in its process before I was downright flabbergasted how much better it already is after just a few patches. If you're into movies or are fans of the Red Lett...
