Story:

When Francis matched with Rai on a dating app, the fact that he's half of the electronic pop duo DRYDEN should have been the most shocking part. Despite the hiccups that naturally occur when a quiet librarian and an internationally famous music producer collide, they hit it off and eventually decide to meet up. The moment Rai takes off the futuristic helmet he’s known for always wearing, he reveals to Francis his biggest secret: he is actually a Dullahan, a mythical being who has no head.

While lugging around her own emotional baggage, can Francis make a relationship work with this nice young man who also happens to be a headless pop star?

Please Take Note:

the head well lost is a commercial otome game with one character route that takes place over the course of about a year. Francis and Rai start dating fairly early on in the game. Thus, the maintenance of the relationship is the main point, not the pursuit.

Due to the nature of Rai's job, he and Francis are not always together. This is especially true for about the first half of the game. As a result, a good chunk of the story occurs through text messages and phone calls.

Content warnings: There are a handful of fade-to-black, text-only references to consensual sex. There are also textual depictions of legal alcohol consumption and some violence.

I'm amazed that this game isn't talked about more! It's a really great visual novel. The dialogue (especially the exchanged text messages) is honestly one of the more natural I've encountered in a VN. The relationship is super sweet! Even with the extraordinary circumstances, it really felt natural and believable. Also fantastic soundtrack. And the 18+ scenes are [chef's kiss] jus sayin I definitely recommend people try the demo -- it's an extremely generous demo that takes you through about 25% of the game. You get a great feel for the style of writing and the dynamic between the two main characters. Note that you will have to manually copy your save files to the full game, though, if you want to continue with that save. My only minor gripe is that I wish the dialogue was colour-coded for who is speaking, since the UI does not clarify (except for in phone calls where there is colour coding?). In most cases you can use context to tell who is speaking, especially since for the majorit...
