Wait for a sale, even if you're a fan of the franchise. The game is good, but not as the previous two. Kinda short, no absurd plot twist. I was really expecting more. Bought on day 1 and kinda feel bad for it. Don't be mistaken, it is a good game, has the same DNA but feels like a filler episode.

The worst of both AI: The Somnium Files and Zero Escape. This takes place between the first and second game in the series, yet if you haven't played nirvanna, then you'll only be partially confused. Who was asking for a game that fills in this time gap? Why does it have to be so confusingly written and slotted in? Very few somniums and escape rooms. Unlike in either series where there'd be enough content to keep you busy for a while, you can play this in 1-2 sessions. None of the puzzles are extraordinary in any way. Swapping between characters is mildly amusing for about 10 seconds. Characters explain to you what you see in such a way that the game can't even pretend to let your brain intuit something on its own. Speaking of dialogue, it's fine? Like there are some cute moments. But, the dialogue can only be so good if the story's compelling. Which it isn't by any means. Zero intrigue and it's truly a stuff just happens type game. Every AI Somnium Files game (and Zero Escape game) ...

9/10 enjoyment, 0/10 for the story. No Sleep gets the pass because I'm emotionally invested, but Spikechun is gonna pull a star wars disney fumble if the next entry isn't any better than this.

It took me about 16 to 20 hours to 100% it. Let's get this out of the way. The story isn't as big a scale as either AITSF1 or 2. In fact it's a whole lot of nothing. So if you decide to get this game just keep this in mind and manage your expectations! Secondly, I'm just going to say you can not play this game without having played AITSF1. That game is a prerequisite because this game condenses character introductions to two sentences long. You will be completely lost if you jump straight in here. With that, let's start with what I enjoyed. - A short game for fans of Ai Somnium Files (AITSF) to revisit the setting and characters once again. - Character writing is mostly on point for the current set of characters but the supporting characters like Gen and Lien are understandably a lot less fleshed out. Most of the focus is on the cast of the first game. - I really like both the new characters Hina and Akemi! - Iris looks so cute in her bunny costume! - The escape rooms and...

reccommended ONLY at 75% or more off. do not waste $40 on 10 hours of content like i did. 3 psyncs, 4 escapes, what a ripoff. this is a fandisk at best, pointless at worst. not necessary unless you're a superfan of the series. enjoyable but way overpriced.

At first I thought this game was gonna be just comic nonsense and I purchased it half expecting exactly that. Purchased on release despite that belief because I'm a fan of AI: The Somnium Files and an even bigger fan of the 999 Zero Escape Trilogy. Was pleasantly surprised. The game does give that vibe in the beginning and the story seems just absurd, but it all comes together in the end. It was a relatively good story with a good explanation and a good motive. Was satisfied with the ending. The 3 escape puzzles/scenes were very well-thought-out and so were the 3 somniums. Still, it was not excellent and it's way too short. Because of that, I honestly think the game is worth 1/2 of its release price at most. Do recommend you to wait for at least a 50% discount. And if you don't know or haven't played those two franchises yet, do so asap. It's so worth it. Both franchises deserved a darker/murderous and much longer sequence. A culmination of both works. Could have been brilliant. And ...

I Enjoyed this game, as a fan of the series its more Date and friends going on another adventure. I feel like you NEED to play the first game to know whats going on/who the characters are. Some of the characters from the second game are here as well but they have a more minor role. I really liked the fact that the game almost kinda splits into 3 different gameplay types. Normal investigation segments, along with Somniums and new Escape Room segements. I like that its the best of both worlds, it feels like half 999 and half AI the Somnium Files which is fitting since Team Zero Escape made this. I especially liked that in the escape sections you have to switch between multiple characters to solve the puzzles. The writing is good and very funny. I do feel like the narative of this game was a little more straight forward than the other entries. I was able to snipe the mastermind by the second chapter. This game has multiple endings in the form of low stake joke endings. They were nice but ...

tldr; this game ended up being a huge disappointment as a big fan of the series The pacing feels rushed throughout, and it doesn't feel like there are never really any meaningful stakes for the duration. I genuinely thought the real ending was going to be a fake-out because of how little actually happened during the game. At half the run time of the last two entries, with none of the intrigue, and a sliver of the character work, No Sleep sadly falls short. I really wanted to like the games, and while I had fun at points (the 2nd somnium was fantastic) and the writing was great as usual (mostly-ish), it just felt like what could have been a much more interesting story was killed in the crib.
