Ubisoft connect performed an update when I launched the game today and in doing so it decided to overwrite my 14 hour playthrough save file with a version from when I had only played for 10 minutes. All of the progress is lost and unrecoverable as the game doesn't seem to allow steam cloud backup, relying solely on ubisoft's own cloud backup system which has just screwed me. I will have to bear in mind not to buy ubisoft games on steam (if at all).

User Reviews
Almost every critical review complains about Ubisoft Connect rather than the game itself. However, I would argue that the game is not as perfect as it is presented to be. It's clear that the game is designed by and for young, skilled players. I'm a fairly experienced gamer, but I'm 45 now and my reflexes aren't as fast as they used to be. For me, the combat was unbearably difficult, even on the recommended normal difficulty setting. The enemies are so fast and their attacks are so briefly telegraphed that my brain just couldn't react properly, and I was overwhelmed by every other larger group of enemies I encountered. The bosses are absolutely insane. They're extremely fast and dash all over the arena while spamming huge, flashy attacks. Sometimes it felt like I was playing a bullet hell game. Most of the time, I didn't even know how to properly avoid the boss's attacks. It felt like pure chaos. So, I quickly had to switch to the easiest difficulty, which reduced the damage taken to...
Sometimes a little too unclear on where to go, but still pretty darn great!
Screw you Ubisoft. Seriously. You are the worst devs ever. To force us to connect to Ubisoft to even play your game is insane. DONT even try to get this to work on Steam Deck. Its not worth it.
Hard to believe this is a game made by Ubisoft nowadays. The Lost Crown took me by surprise. I enjoyed every minute of it to be honest. Let's hope Ubisoft doesn't close this studio.
Very pretty but very shallow Metroidvania. Most of the level geometry doesn't serve any purpose and a lot of the collectibles are just money or stupid lore dump PNGs. This is another case of people glazing something that's just "solid" and saying it's one of the best games ever. Took me 20 hours to beat, could've been 5-8 hours instead. Ubisoft game being over bloated with random time wasters. Gee, where have I seen it before lol. Not sure how to rate this one since it's not bad, I just feel super disappointed that people were sucking this game off like it's the 2nd coming of Christ. Fell for it again.
Holy moly I did not expect this game to be this good. Life long Prince of Persia fan but somehow didn't realize this game had released. Bought it and it kept me hooked until I finished it 100%. Recommended!
Huge Thx for the Ubisoft connect stuff, other than that, pretty good game
You know, Ubisoft didn't release many good games recently, but this one might be one of the few that.... is very good honestly. If you like platformers, this is absolutely a must-play. Really fun and interesting story.
UBISOFT AND UBISOFT CONNECT SUCKS things that I like: -fun metroidvania game -fast combat -Saturday morning cartoon story mixed -some of the platforming are ridiculous things that I dont like -unskipable sequence -the ability to restart the boss fight or puzzle (u either have to died or quit the game to do that) difficult? no make me frustrating? yes I fuking hate this game and still can't put this shite down
