About This Game

Imaginytes is a mix of roguelite, tower defense, and deckbuilding set in a vibrant fantasy dreamworld. Explore a realm where imagination comes to life and time adds an exciting twist to every decision.

Face the dark forces of nightmares in beautiful, procedurally generated maps, ensuring no two battles are ever the same!

Summon Imaginytes onto the hex grid battlefield to create mazes for the enemies. With more than 150 different Imaginytes to collect, each with their own strengths and abilities, you will not run out of options anytime soon.

Experience the joy of evolving your Imaginytes through their 3 evolution tiers. Each evolution brings stronger powers and abilities to help you overcome the nightmares. Plus, during your dreams you will find different enchantments, that can alter your Imaginytes in various different ways.

Throughout your journey (Dream), you’ll craft a powerful deck of Imaginyte cards and spell cards. These cards are not just your tools, but your lifeline, each with the potential to be upgraded in countless ways. Can you find the perfect synergy?

In Imaginytes, time is an essential and unique mechanic. Every action, from placing Imaginytes to casting spells, consumes time, and as time advances, new waves of enemies will emerge. Manage your time wisely to stay ahead of the nightmare forces!

Turn the tide of battle by casting spells to buff your Imaginytes or damage your enemies. With a variety of spells at your disposal, the right choice at the right time can mean the difference between victory and defeat.

Imaginytes aren’t just creatures. They’re part of a grander design. With different Traits like Beast, Bot, Wise, and more, you can craft decks that benefit from these synergies. The more you collect of the same Trait, the more powerful your synergies becomes!

Top off your synergies with more than 120 different artifacts you will discover during your dreams. Artifacts will provide unique buffs, tailoring your playstyle to your liking.

As you journey through Imaginytes, unlock powerful talents that you can set before each Dream. Talents provide lasting upgrades, helping you tailor your strategies and gain new advantages. With each Dream, you’ll grow stronger, allowing for new strategies and deeper gameplay with every run. And with more than 100+ different talents, you won't run out of options.

Every Dream is a new adventure. Unlock new Imaginytes, spells, and artifacts with each run, ensuring that no two Dreams are ever the same. The more you play, the more your arsenal grows, keeping the game fresh and exciting.

Are you ready to awaken your imagination, master a unique time mechanic, and embark on a journey through the dreamscapes?

This game is unfortunately in competition with Emberward, another excellent tower defense maze-building roguelike, and Emberward had a bit of a headstart. This game's primary difference (and strength) is its focus on tower synergies and evolutions. My biggest gripe with Emberward was how it never felt like my towers really worked together. Imaginytes has both active and passive synergies that grow with your deck, making your selections for towers much more impactful than just filling a role slot. I'm excited to dive deeper into this game, since the metaprogression trees are huge and your talent selections can completely change the way you play the game. Definitely worth a try if you're a fan of other TDs!

This game is clearly made by someone who plays a lot of and loves the tower defense and strategy roguelite genres. There are so many little decisions that solve the "aw, man, I wish this thing was just a little different" I feel with lots of other roguelites. The biggest example is getting to draft your deck at the beginning of the run. I love this feature and hope more games start doing it. Little mechanics aside, you've got a solid classic-style tower defense game with maze building and tower upgrading. Sprinkle in some Pokemon and you've got the basic idea. Every aspect of the game from the moment to moment decisions to the big-picture progression feels satisfying. If you like Monster Train or classic-era tower defense games, this is already a must play! I'm excited to see what happens as development continues.

Great roguelike with a different vibe than your usual. I'm reviewing while it's in EA so there are definitely some rough edges with the UI, but the gameplay is solid.

It's weirdly addicting and theres so much stuff to unlock its easily probably a 100 hour+ game. Has a similar "end game" progression system like slay the spire where each run gets harder and harder. Suggestions: 1) needs a hard end game "level" progression counter so there's a visible achievable goal to stacking up the nightmare points (i think that's what theyre called? the things that increase difficulty). 2) needs an end-of-run stat screen. the mid game dps counter is sweet but a stat screen at the end would provide a bit of a sense of accomplishment, especially after smashing a run. 3) Because the different towers are so synergistic when they're of the same type (flora is op, for example) I wish there was a way to have more control over getting your starting towers of the same type. Currently having different towers of all different types starting off means youre not getting past the 1st section.
