Great game if you don't mind giving money to fascists. The head artist on the game and co creator was exposed to have deeply bigoted views, and had pretty messed up things to say about marginalized groups. He released an apology that i appreciated at the time, but someone also revealed that he foresaw being caught and had a plan for what he would do if he was. His behavior followed that plan. Still, I gave him the benefit of the doubt... That was until after the release of second audio book. I listened to the whole thing, and got the vibe that the author was trying to say something in his story... I didnt suspect anything bad, I was just curious about him so I looked online to see if he had a twitter. It was hard to find, but when I found it, I saw a series of xenophobic and racist posts. One was a retweet of a historian youtuber posting in support of the "homeland party" in the UK which is an ethonationalist political party, and the youtuber himself posts N@zi apologist, revisio...

It's...not terrible. I was torn between leaving a positive or negative review, but for me, I think the negatives slightly outweigh the positives. There just isn't much to this game. The controls were absolutely nuts at first, but you eventually get sort of used to it. No idea how anyone could play this with a controller. All you really do is pick one of the 1 to 4 vehicles or mechs it lets you choose from for each mission. You don't get to use favorites. You then try to control it and destroy stuff in a small area that looks like someone's miniature replica of a neighborhood for a train set or something. It looks kind of neat and everything is destructible, but it's just the same thing over and over, very few differences in the look of the area, and that's it. That's the whole game. Over and over. The difficulty is pretty ridiculous at later levels, because you will be starved for ammo, unbelievably outgunned, outnumbered, and you will die in half a sec after starting the mission, beca...

Hard game. Good game. Kill everyone, get money. Just a mercenary. Nothing personal, just business.

Brigador is a fantastic game for mecha fans, combat vehicle enthusiasts, and real-time tactical action enjoyers. While the appearances could be deceiving, and at first this game could be mistaken for a twin-stick shooter, don't be fooled. The early levels of the campaign could be a breeze, but later on the game demands careful ammo management, smart positioning, and quick tactical decision-making. The final levels of the campaign will test you on everything you learned from the early levels. Don't think you're done once you finish the campaign, however. The real meat of the game is in the freelance missions, where you get to choose your vehicle, be it mecha, tank or anti-grav, outfit it with your weapons of choice, choose your pilot, adjust your difficulty and test your skills or just chill and contemplate the beautiful destruction you cause to the banana republic planet of Solo Nobre. Oh, how I love the smell of laser-struck loyalists in the morning, accompanied by an incredible synth...

Strategic gameplay, cool lore, killer soundtrack, and tons of customization. Tip: Settings > General > Tank & Mech / Agrav Movement -- Change both to 'Relative'. It increases the learning curve a bit, but it's what the designers intended and it will let you do much better as the difficulty increases.

Great game. However, if I could still return it, I would. Will not be supporting these devs in the future.

An excellent isometric tactical vehicular combat game. Everything within the confines of the map border is destructible, and everything will explode pleasantly. Everything is a baked sprite, and they are beautifully rendered. Don't expect a twin-stick shooter, because it isn't. It relies on tank controls, and your ass and sides take more damage, so don't switch it to screen absolute, as this isn't the way the game was meant to be played, and you'll be inadvertently exposing your weak points on retreat. The soundtrack is superb - done by Makeup And Vanity Set, an electronic artist - and fits the game extremely well. The visuals are also excellent, with a very detailed lighting system which will interact with the sprite graphics very nicely. I almost wish there were more maps that defaulted to a late afternoon time period, since the orange wash of the sun on these maps is gorgeous. The gameplay is tight. Freelance mode is the main draw, but Campaign gives you some specialized challen...

Great atmosphere, nice visuals, solid gameplay. Music's good enough to listen as a proper album. Highly recommend reading lore entries for all the equipment - there's plenty of good writing and interesting worldbuilding in this game.
