About This Game

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is the brutal conclusion to the Hotline Miami saga, set against a backdrop of escalating violence and retribution over spilled blood in the original game. Follow the paths of several distinct factions – each with their own questionable methods and uncertain motivations – as unforeseen consequences intersect and reality once again slips back into a brilliant haze of neon and bloodshed.

Blistering combat against punishing opposition will require intense focus as new variables, weapons, and methods of execution are introduced throughout the struggle. Let the striking colors of an unmistakable visual style wash over as you meticulously cut down those that would stand between you and the ultimate meaning behind the massacre. This is the finale, this is the unquestionable end.

Relentless Hostilities: Adjust combat techniques as the narrative shifts between factions and brings unique variations to a familiar approach along with new weapons, movements, and melee attacks.

Enthralling Soundtrack: Over forty pounding tracks from dozens of artists punctuate the savage conflict and bring the larger scale of your actions into focus. New artists join returning favorites like M|O|O|N, Perturbator, Jasper Byrne, Scattle, and El Huervo for an incredible audio massacre.

Custom Level Editor: Design custom levels using characters, enemies, weapons and music tracks from the game and share your creations with others online via Steam Workshop. [COMING SOON]

Addictive and miles better than first one in terms of presentation but I'd say this game length is exhausting for some reason. Nevertheless, it's full on psychedelic roller coaster.

Yeah, the gameplay is tight, violent, fast, and unforgiving. The soundtrack is phenomenal, probably one of the best in gaming. But what stands out is the story. It’s not clean. It’s not satisfying in the traditional sense. It’s messy, fragmented, and intentionally hard to follow at times—but that’s the point. You’re seeing the consequences of everything that the first game started. It builds up a bunch of characters with different motives, only for all of it to collapse in the end. And when it hits, it hits. No overexplanation. No last-minute heroics. Just a hard stop. It’s the ending that sticks with you. It doesn’t glorify violence; it questions why it even happened. And that’s rare. If you’re looking for a game that delivers both intensity and meaning, this one does both—and leaves you thinking about it long after it’s over. And the ending is surprisingly and incredibly sad. Never have I ever seen such a depressing and pessimistic ending in a video game. I...

After completing every Steam achievement for this game and the first one II can definitively recommend this game. However, I will caution you that this is far more difficult and punishing than the first entry. If you do take the time to learn the mechanics and maps, this game can be far more rewarding than the first, thanks to its insane learning curve. Very good, but definitely not just more "Hotline Miami." Though, if that's what you're looking for the level editor has it on offer

Hotline Miami 2 is a wild and chaotic experience, the soundtrack is still one of the best in gaming, the story is messy but in a way that fits the violent style, and the gameplay keeps that addictive mix of fast action and trial and error, every level feels intense and sometimes unfair but when you finally clear a stage it’s incredibly satisfying, the pixel art style and the atmosphere are so unique that you can’t mistake it for anything else, overall it’s a great sequel even if it’s harder and more punishing than the first game, but if you are someone who wants to get all the trophies be prepared, the Genocide trophy is exhausting and extremely repetitive, it turns the game into a grind and will test your patience more than your skill, if you are chasing 100% completion just know you’re going to suffer a lot before you finally unlock it.

Dumped tons of hours on this back on the Switch. Was excited to add it to my Steam library. They take what made Hotline Miami great and continued the excellent top down gameplay. Lots of weapons and different masked characters to come at the level in different ways. A great story and just like the previous game another banger of a soundtrack. I listen to them both daily to this day. The story is really, really well done and gameplay even better. Devolver Digital always publishes really memorable games and this is up there with some of the greats. A developer I always follow and haven’t let me down yet. High replay value. Definitely recommend a full playthrough if you’ve never experienced Hotline Miami. Even if you start with the sequel it’ll make you want to go back and play the original. They’re both tons of fun. Can not recommend them enough. Runs great on Steam Deck and PC.

This game is great but I'd call it more of an Imperfect Masterpiece. - Every playable character is so good. All of them are fun - The levels have some of the best levels in the series - It's really confusing but once you get it, it's really good. Favorite characters had to be the Fans. - The soundtrack is perfect. "DUST" and "DIVIDE" have to be my favorite tracks. - The big and I mean BIG issue with the game is the Level editor, it's just a buggy mess. I like making levels in the game but some parts just don't work. So in the end: 8/10
