You have to get to get your tribe to Ireland before the Caesars' legions get you. You have some resources and tools at your disposal, but everything is scarce, and you are always forced to make less than ideal choices - based on random chance. Even worse, once you get on a slippery slope (run out of food and people, or let the Romans get to you), it is nearly impossible to get back on your feet and win in a long run. You just try again. And again. And again. This may feel too harsh and arbitrary for some, and I get it. But somehow, it clicked with me and ignited some sparkle that I could put out before finally making it to the end. My only gripe with the short story is that there is really no significant room to roleplay your choices, as pressed as you are. It is...
