This game has probably the worst color palette and UI combo I've ever seen. So unintuitive, so hard to read, so bad on the eyes, no visual clarity. It's like torture.

Somehow this game became incredibly unfun after it's proper release. I could have happily spent hours doing nothing but grinding high scores in survival mode, but on 1.0, I lost access to survival mode and can only get it back after clearing the campaign. I've since tried to do so six times, and every single one has made it to the boss without issue, and every single one has died to the boss from a single hit of a projectile. Obviously there's something I'm missing here, but if I can't figure it out in six runs, and my experience with every single one of those runs was a miserable 'what the fuck was I supposed to do' sensation, then why on earth would I recommend this game? There is a lot here I had good things to say about, like the overarching thematics and flippant naming... but now I don't care. I keep trying to play it and it keeps not being fun. And yeah, skill issue, whatever, but I had more than 15 hours in this before release and I enjoyed almost all of that time. So what c...
Good garlic-like by the boner minions guys Based around short waves so you're not spending 45+ minutes on a run Builds are quite original for the genre, power-ups are not your standard area/frequency/power modifiers but rather, you have a mix of weapons, elemental attributes, drones, active/passive powers plus your class modifiers. Only thing I'm not too sure is particularly relevant is the plain old points system, which are used for leaderboard purposes. But overall it's been a good time.
This horde survival is really cool and better than Boneraiser Minions (from my perspective) but - it's too easy - also has a bad ratio of reading item descriptions (70%) to actual gameplay (30%) so that spending time in menus and shops takes about double the time as the gameplay! Maybe it's just me searching for the most optimized strategy, but I think this is true for everybody for the first 2 hours. - it has too many achievements! There are about 30 characters, 30 weapons, abilities, traits, whatnot and 5 game modes which combine to a bazillion of combinations you have to go through for every achievement of those 221. - gets repetitive as all horde survival roguelikes do Yeah, pretty good!
Graphics are wonderfully retro, the sound is fun and perfect for what is here. Many run types, character choices and skills.
