Too many bugs at this stage, wait to purchase it until there are fixes. Getting randomly sent to an insta-kill trap as a result of a bug is obnoxious and needs to be fixed.

About This Game
EARLY ACCESS ROADMAP

About the Game
In Sol Cesto, your goal is to descend through the levels of a randomly generated underground world, diving ever deeper in search of the sun, lost for countless years. On the combat grid, choose one of four rows to move into. You'll then land randomly on one of the four tiles in that row: will it be a monster that harms you? A chest full of gold? Or perhaps a deadly poison trap? Anything can happen…
It’s up to you to weigh the risks of each tile as you clear the screen. Of course, your character will grow stronger, and magical items, special powers, and sinister curses will help you bend the odds in your favor and keep fate on your side.
In its early access version, Sol Cesto currently offers:
3 biomes to explore, each hiding monsters and traps with unique behaviors (5 biomes planned for the full release)
4 characters with distinct powers, stats, and abilities (8 characters planned for the full release)
Stone teeth that change the game’s rules and probabilities to tip the scales in your favor
Metal teeth that trigger devastating curses and combos
A wide range of items to eliminate enemies or escape dangerous situations
The strange underground inhabitants, some of whom may share their secrets with you
And many more surprises…

User Reviews
So far the game is fun. Can't wait to see the new characters. The only thing I wish so far is that if you manage to clear a whole floor then you get some sorta bonus.
so first let me tell you to no be deceived by the good reviews just look to the time everyone spend on the game and it will tell everything you need to know. The animations take ages and bug out if you try to progress too quickly, a lot of times loosing fases of bosses to an entire boss, its bad. i have yet to know if the second area has a boss or if i bug it out of existence . To add to the bug mess of a game the perks and class are boring and the meta progressions are blend (they are the core loop of the game btw), the game has this aestetics of mystic with no depth and very bad balacing. Its just a 4 hr time sink that it is not worth completing. There are a lot more intricate slots simulators on steam and thats saying a lot.
Gorgeous art and music, and a very fun gameplay loop. Excellent game so far even in EA, superb job devs!!
Gorgeous visuals, great gameplay loop, and good elevator pitch for an addicting roguelite puzzle crawler. So far, it feels a bit limited in content, not in terms of unlockables, but rather in terms of actual depth. The characters, while visually stunning, don't feel really that different from one another, which limits the appeal a bit. There's 3 biomes in the game, and the full game promises 5, but frankly, I think the game could do with like 10 biomes, and have them mixed throughout the crawl. Runs feel kind of samey otherwise. I'm cautiously optimistic, it's probably going to be sitting in my library for a year or so before I think it's worth giving it a go again, but it's a nice game that may appeal to some more than others.
I don't get the reviews. This game is bare bones and, honestly, not fun. The strategy is minimal, the progression is inconsequential, and every run is identical. Not for me.
Kinda fun for a bit, but for me not too much replay value.
Very ambitious. Lots of innovation here. So many clickables. Definitely keep an eye on it if you like weird indie rogue-likes.
The games art is great s everyone already knows. The main game loop is pretty meh though. Pretty much you go down get coins, use coins to unlock things in meta progression and repeat. The combat amounts to click on a row and get one random outcome. You can't even play the whole game until you've done probably like 30 runs and brought back like 500+ coins. I have a feeling that after you unlock everything in the meta progression and realize the game is entirely sauce. Game is simple though and looks good so everyone likes it if they play it for like an hour
This is a beautiful little game. It seems obvious that a lot of love and art have gone into it. I think that there are many people who would love this game, but I'm just not one of them. The biggest issue for me is that the gameplay loop is just not satisfying. There are many ways to express skill, yet also the RNG elements are just too high for me. The progression is a little bit slow and I end up feeling the same run over run instead of more powerful. After 3 ish hours of gameplay I just find myself unwilling to do another run. If you like risk/reward, if you don't mind slower progression. If you want to uncover a world with charming details and genuinely neat ideas, this game absolutely is worth it. But for me, I sadly cannot recommend it, even tho I wish I could.
