The art style and quality are fantastic. The writing is abysmal and the story as generic as it can get. But the main reason I don't recommend is that for a roguelike deckbuilder it has surprisingly little variability and replayability. The four different heroes/classes are definitely unique from each other, but within each one there isn't really anything to it. No interesting cards, no crazy combos, no deep synergies. After I've played two of the heroes for a bit I realized there is no way I would be playing them again.

About This Game
In Deathless, you’ll play as four different heroes, each with their own playstyle.
VARVARA THE FAIR
A cunning and clever treasure hunter who excels at manipulating enemy positions on the battlefield.
VASILISA THE WISE
A powerful elemental sorceress who can summon and dismiss Nursemaids at will to assist her in combat.
DOBRYNYA NIKITICH
The famous hero, equipped with high health and solid defense, making him a master of defensive combat.
ALYOSHA
A warrior from Kitezh. He always carries a sword forged from unique star-steel and a spellbane, a mysterious enchanted wand.
Hundreds of card combinations alongside relics provide endless opportunities for creativity — find the most powerful combos to defeat all the bosses and save Belosvet.
Complete each hero’s quest chain to learn more about the world and the magical creatures that inhabit it.

After each battle, you’ll decide where to go next. A swamp with a weak enemy or a clearing with a serious foe? The harder the path, the more valuable the reward.
Each run will offer its own paths.

"Top-Tier Animations, High-Stakes Runs." As someone who has played hundreds of roguelike deck-builders over the years, I don’t say this lightly—Deathless: The Hero Quest is the closest game to Slay the Spire that matches its quality. From its challenging encounters to its deep replayability, this is a game that knows exactly what kind of itch it’s trying to scratch, and it does so with confidence. Yes, my one minor criticism is that it isn’t wholly original. You’ll see familiar mechanics, familiar structure, and familiar pacing. But perhaps it doesn’t need to break the mold—because what it does offer is a rock-solid, finely tuned roguelike deck-building experience that delivers on all the fundamentals. Each character feels drastically different to play, with unique mechanics that force you to rethink your strategy every run. The difficulty curve keeps you on your toes, and there are moments where you’ll genuinely be sweating through the final turns, hoping your deck ...
I played this one intensively and beat it on two heroes on Hardcore lvl 10 (very difficult...). For me the review is generally positive but not excellent, around 6.5-7.5. Why? What is good? - Immersion and art - Style - The four heroes - Traditional RPG feel even if it's a card-builder - Strategic choices on every run, involving compromise, especially on high difficulty - Great for players who like challenge - Game is very well balanced/calibrated like Slay the Spire, having gone through many hardcore lvls, really felt it What needs improvement - Combat speed is too slow, even with the 1.5 increase.. compared to monster train it's.. a snooze. Your runs can become 3+ hours because of this, on high difficulties. It needs a 3x speed - Ways to play each hero are limited or too shallow: yes each hero is different from one another, but having played the game deeply, felt like you either go full offense or full defense with retaliation/dot type of damage. So.. lacks q...
Good card-building game, becomes easier when you start to understand different mechanics for main characters. I've seen a lot of people comparing it with StS or others, but for me the closest one is Knock on the Coffin Lid, but less grindy. Art and music is good, looks pretty, performance is good on my 12 y.o. PC. The best feature is that you can leave the game any moment and it will save the progress.
I'm a fan of the aesthetic, the mechanics, and soundtrack. I'm not a fan of the feeling of enemy damage scaling far beyond the defensive options allowed to the player. Or player damage feeling both too little and just enough to complete a run. But if you are fan of deckbuilders, this one might be up your alley.
