It was a wonderful game (: I first played Tangle Towers and had no idea there was another game which came before - but I loved it! The voice acting was superb and the art beautiful. I loved the layout of clues, suspects and notes - makes the game much more seamless to play. I also enjoyed seeing how this game connects with the next and the overarching story that is being formed. I can't wait for the third game to be released! I recommend for any one who enjoys a good mystery (:

I played Tangle Tower first, not knowing there was a game that came before and it was a treat getting to see some of the history and what came before it with this game (it's predecessor). Like with Tangle Tower, the voice acting was so well done, and I loved the personalities of each character and how varied they were. The exploration and puzzles felt a smidge easier than Tangle Tower, but I still had a great time playing the game.
I got this with the intention of maybe streaming it to/playing with friends, said "well, let me check it out quickly to see if it'll work," and uh... accidentally played the entire game in a single sitting. Admittedly, I wish it was longer; not because it felt too short though, I was just having that much fun. Very excited to play the sequel, and looking forward to the third installment that is coming out soon, I believe.
If you want a short, well animated, passionately performed game: this is it. Enjoy diving into Detective Grimoire
I enjoy the art style. the game itself is short and sweet. i love the character design.
Really cute and fun game! About 3 hours of gameplay for your first run-through, if you're thorough. Not hard to perfect, you just have to be engaged enough to investigate everything. It was easy to get this VERY on sale, and it was very enjoyable to play. I would recommend this for teens and older, and had a great time with it as an adult.
Ah, what a bliss to return to your childhood game. I played the original Detective Grimoire prototype on 2007, and I remember replaying the game a lot because it was different. I have always loved point and click games, and it's a murder mystery as well? Say less. I love that there are some easter eggs from the OG prototype like the officer, the little girl, and even the fair as a clue in one of his thinking sessions! I adore the voice acting, the atmosphere, the background music. I've actually played this on my iPad before, but I thought of buying it on my Steam just because. I enjoy every minutes I spent playing this game. The game is not hard at all, you just have to be patient! And enjoy the process. Everything pieces together in the end.
One of the most beautiful detective games.
There's no mystery quite as engaging and whimsical as a Detective Grimoire mystery! That's true for Tangle Tower and it's true here. I could sing the praises of the phenomenal performances, the fluidity of the animations that accompany them, the writing, music, puzzles, even the UI. But to hone in on the pacing- that's something Detective Grimoire: Secret of the Swamp excels at. For a game about figuring out a mystery, hopping between locations and subjects and searching for every detail you've missed in both, it's amazing how well it manages to ensure a steady trickle of relevant information- both that that is and isn't immediately clear. You'll always feel both one step ahead and one step behind, perfectly in the shoes of detective... not extraordinaire... Detective "pretty good" Grimoire! With the amount of freedom you feel to piece the mystery together and approach it from whatever angle you want- that pacing and immersion is really impressive. And carried over to Tang...
A perfectly satisfying few hours of gentle sleuthing. Felt like an episode of Scooby Doo! Maybe a little too easy, and it definitely feels like an ipad game, but I thoroughly enjoyed blasting through it in one sitting. The art style, and especially the music, create a very cosy classic point and click atmosphere. Very much looking forward to starting the sequel, although I may save it for the Autumn as a treat.
