About This Game

◆Story

Notari had expected one day she would be separated from her best friend. Nothing prepared her for what happened that day.
Did the Institute take away Miroita? Did the military, or the Federation itself?
The distinction no longer seemed important. All must pay. Notari desperately fought on.
Luciolla, the AI created by Miroita, was Notari's only companion.
"Miroita lives" said her.
Must see her. The thought is germinating, growing more powerful by day.
It is a better reason to live each day to the fullest, knowing someone is out there, waiting to see her once more.
Must not abandon her.
Must not let her down.
Fight on, to find one another again, one step at a time.
She knows the day will come.
And then, the other one showed up. But...

◆Gameplay

You are FEATHER
Mirage Feathers is an anime themed pseudo-3D rail shooter. You are Notari, a cybernetic air-superiority fighter of the Federation's FEATHER program. You will experience fast tempo combat as you destroy enemy aircrafts wave after wave. Even though the whole world is against you, your ammo is infinite. So fight on, and prove your superiority!

Fire!
Notari's advanced fire control system automatically locks on a target when it passes your crosshair. Your attacks will then home in on the locked targets.

Variable Combat Styles
As the story progresses, AI companion Luciolla will acquire weapons specs from stronger opponents, allowing Notari additional main weapon options. They all have different effects, and offer a range of playstyles.

Initiating OVERDRIVE!
FEATHERs may unleash incredible power by initiating OVERDRIVE, enough to destroy everything in sight. Moreover, when in OVERDRIVE mode, your weapons system will have upgraded performance, all your attacks will be buffed.

Game Modes
This game includes Story Mode and Endless Mode. Story Mode has scripted levels, and explores the characters outside battle with text-based dialogues and cute character art. Endless Mode gives you access to the full arsenal, and pits you against infinite waves of progressively more challenging enemies that spawn randomly.

Cheat Codes
Is the game too hard? No problem, we have made um… Oh! Sorry, that's classified.

◆Characters

Notari
One of the two FEATHERs from the Institute and best friend of Miroita. Outgoing, hot-tempered, fiercely independent. She is often frustrated by the reality that surrounds her, and is willing to act.
She really likes to stick with Miroita. Most people always see the two together.
Protagonist in the story, player character.

Miroita
One of the two FEATHERs in the Institute and best friend of Notari. Calm, obedient and reserved, she likes to err on the side of caution.
Miroita often requires Notari's support to boost confidence, even though her abilities are Notari's match.

Luciolla
Notari's companion originated from Miroita's own mind, but with a completely different personality. Her main strengths are intelligence gathering and planning. In combat she invades enemy systems to help Notari.
She talks like a real person, and would not make you feel alone.

Professor
Leader of the Institute, and the creator of both Notari and Miroita. Even though she was hard on the pair, she deeply cared for them. Notari thought otherwise, though.

Kinda short, but you can't go wrong at all for the price-point. Fun game, cute and interesting story, excellent music; definitely looking forward to the developers' next work.

Is it me or dodging is just pointless? Kept getting hit a lot and I've played the likes of Afterburner and Space Harrier. Other than that, I do like the 2D sprites. Well done.

It's short but it's fun if you like on-rail shooters

This has to be one of the greatest games I've played this year... I bought it after seeing some of the avatars and all that in the points shop and wondered what kind of game it would be. Truth be told I wasn't expecting it to be a game which is heavily inspired by the arcade game: Afterburner. I had never played that game, but if this game is anything to go by, that game can't be that bad. Everything about this game is brilliant, from the gameplay to the art of the game, which is good (I played it with the streamer friendly option..) And then there is also the music, which has to be some of the best music I've heard from a videogame, In fact, I'm listening to it whilst writing this review. Overall, everything about this game is great and I strongly recommend you give it a go! especially if you like the score chasing aspect of arcade games, you can see a lot of value out of this game :D

This was a fun game. And for only $5 I think it's worth it. It has those charming pixelated graphics and it's a shmups game. The story isn't bad either. The artwork is beautiful as well. Not much to say because it is a very short game you can probably complete in a single sitting. I managed to 100% the game in 2.7 hours. But again, for $5, I think it was fun.

Barely recommend. Two big issues, super short game, like story is less than an hour, and endless mode will get tiring fairly fast, I have 3 hours of playtime and feel I might have put too much into it already. Second is the confusing nature of depth, with 2d sprites in a psuedo 3d world. You see a projectile on the screen, it's not going to hurt you... but then after it gets 20% bigger it's close enough it now will hurt you. Now identify those projectiles that are slightly bigger out of maybe 100+ on the screen to know where you can safely move or not. And also many projectiles/effects can just completely hide other ones behind them. At it's core, the design doesn't allow for perfect skill evasions, don't get me wrong with enough practice you can get quite good and avoid most things, but not all reliably. When I started playing these moments just felt like the game was killing me out of my control quite often and unreasonably, so I wasn't having the most fun to start with. That said, ...
