About This Game

(COMPATIBLE with Oculus Rift and Quest with Link Cable to supported PC)

PULSAR is an award-winning 40-minute Immersive Art Installation with occasional interaction: a tribute to the imaginative spirit of six-year-old Eloise who lost her battle with leukemia.

Three portals into deep space. Three unique, music-driven journeys.

PULSAR invites you to enter an artistic representation of Eloise’s final birthday wish. You are now a Galactic Observer and a Virtual Astronaut. You can transcend the fragility and physical restrictions of human existence and experience another dimension. Witness galactic events, the birth and demise of stars and planetary systems. Soak up the sights and sounds. Enjoy the slow discovery. Hear the captivating melodies of the Universe. Harness the energy in the pit of a Black Hole. Affect the flow of linear time. Venture on an unusual spacewalk. Demolish fierce asteroids to protect a planet from destruction. Co-create solar systems based on the rhythms, textures, and colors of universal frequencies. Extras offer you a 3D volume of scientific facts and animations.

PULSAR promises you delight, awe, wonder, and the freedom to create your own interpretation.

(Note: Headphones are recommended to experience the full audio immersion of Pulsar, The VR Experience)
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/1O6Xfz-sOiU This is fine. It's a solid 40 minute space-themed electronic music video with some interactions. If you're a space nerd who enjoys artsy, experimental experiences, this would be right up your alley. However, this is niche. It's not for everyone. It doesn't really have any gameplay. It's a mostly chill experience where you sit back, relax, and enjoy the audio-visual space-themed experience. App is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. No issues of any kind or bugs. However, you only have snap turning. There is no locomotion. You can play seated. Stuff happens 360 around you so you either snap turn or play standing and turn around IRL. There are no graphical options either. It's fine for what it is. I would recommend picking it up on sale if this sounds interesting to you due to its short length. Rate 6/10.
If you enjoy...

This was a really neat experience. They call it an art piece and I understand why. It takes place in a space like universe(s) and there are three playful, minimally interactive set pieces with electric music and sounds. There is not a lot of interaction but more of an experience that you observe. It's fun and while not too educational as there is no dialog it does have a short bonus area that discusses some space science. It has three art pieces that are around 10-15 minutes long each. I enjoyed it a lot and had fun.
