About This Game

The world has fallen to the zombies, one munch at a time. Reduced to a mere handful of hardened survivors, the war is not over until the last human soldier stops breathing and starts shambling. Cursed Dawn is a blend of first person shooters and wave survival games, where every second brings you closer to death at the hands of the zombie hordes. Your job is to kill as many of them as possible before that happens.
To do that, you'll have to master the maps, packed to the rooftops with secrets to buy you a few seconds of life, stay on the move to avoid the horde overwhelming you, and most of all: Stay on your toes. No playthrough is the same, thanks to a dynamic spawn system that will hit you hard the moment you drop your guard.
How long can you last?

Arsenal of Weapons and Physics: You can fight zombies with over two dozen weapons. But why settle for just that? Blow them up, set them on fire, use explosives to fling them right into the incoming horde, turning bowling into a blood sport - or fling yourself across the map to get out of a tight spot!
On Your Own or With Friends: Face the zombie hordes on your own, or bring a friend to explode zombies into heaps of gore, tag teaming monsters until death do you part
Open-Ended Strategic Gameplay: Fast fingers are good, but what will save you in the long run is fast thinking. Learn the map, the zombie types, and think fast on your feet (unless you want to become a B-ration for the zombies).
Secrets Hidden Everywhere: Every map has codes to input, sequences to complete, aerial feats to complete, and seemingly inaccessible spots where you can find just the gun you need - unless the RNG decides you shall suffer.
A Gory World: Fight for your life across detailed maps, set in the darkest places of the world. Slaughterhouses. Catacombs. Mob hideouts. Carnivals. Elementary schools.
More to Come: Cursed Dawn will expand with additional content after release, including new weapons, new enemy types, new maps and more!

Overall Summary: GIGA watered down and bad cod zombies. - Tutorial doesn't explain enough in how the game works or what controls do - There is also no clear explanation on what keys do what, you have to just mash your keyboard in hopes of knowing what is available - Scroll wheel doesn't change weapons when there is just two weapon slots available - YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO PRESS R TO RELOAD, THERE IS NO AUTO-RELOAD - No rebinding keys - Movement is clunky - Zombies or whatever they are don't make any noise when running so you get hit from behind a lot - The zombies are also extremely dumb as all they do is walk towards the player and you can abuse this by staying right behind a fence or obstacle and mow them down - The characters you can choose from talk extremely loud which adds to the point below - Noises are all over the place and enemies constantly groaning and moaning will flood your speakers - When you get hit, the screen gets extremely red and hard to see anything - Why is there lean...
For fifteen bucks, this one is a pass. It operates a lot like COD Zombies, where you shoot bad guys, get cash, and use that cash to unlock more areas and get more guns. That SHOULD be fun, but it's the details that matter. The audio is all over the place. The awesome metal soundtrack at the beginning is the best it gets. It seems like dead zombies still make noise, and zombies that wander towards you seem to make the loudest noise when they are far away from you. The zombies themselves do damage on contact, not on attack. And their damage box is pretty huge. Plus, there seems to be not much animation or anything when damage happens on either side. The VO is also a bit lacking, at least with the character I picked. Now, that could be because I heard "I'm wounded" in a faux Max Payne voice while not getting many indicators otherwise. A level of polish should be here. It isn't here. For a product that isn't Early Access, it's lacking in that regard.
Ok, so I've put about an hour in on SteamDeck... Running this at 640x400 with FSR on 5 and it actually looks fine. Stable for most parts. This game needs work, but it's nothing that can't be fixed. Am I having fun? Yes, yes I am. I enjoy this game, and it's my guilty pleasure now. I love that the zombies have physics and sometimes it leads to some funny things. It seems I can only have 1 weapon at a time on deck? Not sure if that's by design but if it is, please god change that. I'm trying to get my friend in on it to play some MP. I love the art direction, it's just too dark without a flashlight. Sounds need rebalancing and footsteps need to be a thing. Zombies hurt you by contact, not exclusively attacks...that should be fixed up as well. with that out of the way: It's fun, you shoot zombies and get money. It's basic and simple. Part of me likes running it at 400p, it looks really chunky and reminds me of some early quake mods. Gunplay is fine for me. The game is...
