About This Game

Chronocide brings a horde of undead for you to shoot, burn, crush, throw, impale, poison, freeze and hurt in other imaginative ways.

Grind your enemies down on their way to the temporal portals with cleverly placed traps and your weapons. Save civilization from being wiped out while you're at it. Earn up to 5 stars per level, each grade rewards more points to use for acquiring items or upgrading your hero, traps and weapons. Every hero can acquire neutral traps/weapons and some traps/weapons that are only available to them.

The campaign can be played in solo or co-op mode (up to 4 players).

This game is meant to be challenging. If at first you don't succeed at a level, try, try again.

Or switch to casual difficulty (and earn less stars if you complete the level).

Missing stars on a level? Replay it to increase your rewards.

Basically, Chronocide is an indie developer's manifestation of love for physics and tower defense.

Original soundtrack by Malin Eriksson.

TL;DR

Footage, content and gameplay is subject to change at any time during the early access period.

During early access, content will be released continuously until the 3 acts that wraps up the main story are complete. Every act consists of 8 levels.

The number of traps, weapons, enemy types and levels will increase with time.

NOTE: Only 1 act is available so far in the early access.

This will change further along development.

Also, there will be bugs.

Hopefully, any such arising will be easy to find and get rid of with the help of the community.

The base game will contain the first 3 acts which is the main story arc.

As you progress through the acts, more traps, weapons and other items will be available.

Play through the campaign to unlock more game modes.

The 4 available heroes play very differently and complement eachother;

- Waldis the wizard - expert in elemental damage, using mostly projectile weapons.

- Rolanda the paladin - employs buffs/debuffs and uses (mostly) melee weapons.

- Mike the soldier - uses instant-hit bullet weapons that require mana to reload.

- Anthia the necromancer - inflicts spell damage instead of wielding weapons, also has access to minions.

What a nice surprise of an indie niche game. I purchased it for the 3rd person action TD aspect of it but got a lot more than I was expecting. In its early state I am digging the amount of stats, weapons, traps, upgrades, and play ability. I have only tried the paladin so far and she has some meaty upgrades like +1 enemy hit with sword swing (I like this one) and damaging aura to enemies, but I don't have enough of the specific upgrade points to have them both at the same time! Playing and beating a level will let me earn the upgrade points I need to get them both. Playing well will let you earn more upgrade points too. I am early in the game and and still finding my play style but I can experiment on how I want to attack the level. I can chose to upgrade her physical power, weapons, traps, HP, defense, etc. Even though my playtime is low I can see I am barely scratching the surface of the amount of things that can be buffed. The levels so far are sparsely detailed but the action, g...
