I love this game, it's so fun and enjoyable on all dimensions! The combat is very engaging and while the attack strategies aren't overly complex, I'd classify the game itself as quite difficult, due to requiring solid reflexes and stamina for key-smashing (which I don't possess - I shamefully cleared the story on Pretty Princess mode, despite starting on Ninja initially..). Either way, gameplay feels very satisfying because of the high amount of edgy action, how dramatically brutal it is, and the variety of diverse enemies & weapons. Stylistically, this game is excellent as well; the cutscene art and overall game design have a nice gloomy mood with plenty of gore, the map & enemy designs are creative and I love the occasional "gimmicks" throughout the gameplay (such as sudden changes of scenery with smooth transitions, minigames, etc). Moreover, the immaculate soundtrack helps establishing a mesmerizing atmosphere, making the game even more addicting. Lastly, the story itself is so ...

About This Game
Embark on a blood soaked quest of vengeance as either Yuki, a machine-armed, mentally unraveling prisoner, or The Dishwasher, a relentless, reanimated samurai, against the corrupted leaders of society: the Banker, the General, and the Judge.
The followup to 2009's Dead Samurai, The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is a combo-fueled, fast-paced, stylistic 2D action platformer that features the series' staple gritty, graphic novel-inspired art style, built on a new engine that allows for an even more visually gruesome experience.
Originally released in 2011 on Xbox360.

its fucking worth it
SKA Studios has a style that no other developer matches. Though most people likely know them better for Salt&Sanctuary, The Dishwasher and its sequel are an excellent Hack-&-Slash title that is very much entirely their own. Gritty, bloody, with an EXCELLENT OST and some of the tightest and well polished combat in the genre. Got all achievements on XBox360 over a decade ago. Now I've done it again today in 2025. Despite my younger self definitely having better twitch-reflexes, I still got the chops to be a Lead Dishwasher :)
yuki 😍
Masterpiece, now just port Dead Samurai to Steam!
i would like to have a stepsister who is a vampire with a chainsaw on her arm
Edgelord gem with great movement Protip: Use the Cloud Sword's charge attack to hit super hard and pwn The Cretin and other bosses
i love indie games and this is one of the best <3
This is a fun little game with a great art style that is brimming with gritty atmosphere, lots of attitude, and is topped with a of layer of silly over-the-top violence. Run on walls, win chainsaw duels, confront your nightmares, and wreck everything that moves. This game has aged well and is still a joy to play through.
Playing on a 3440x1440 resolution. The game itself is great, I thought the weird/blurry or double image effect like a split screen where enemies appear twice on your screen is part of the game feature. I found out that it's NOT! Until I downscaled my resolution to 1920x1080. Basically the game is freaking unplayable, the bug was there the entire time regardless of what stage I proceed to. I was frustrated a very long time and got dizzy until I figured out that this game is fcking broken and doesn't support ultrawide monitor properly. Edit: The fullscreen feature isn't actually a fullscreen it's like a borderless window but with another name. My in-game cursor often bounces to my 2nd monitor. To add: On Gears of Warning under Arcade Mode, I kept dying for no reason every time I interact with the boss. Even while parrying him, I still kept dying though my health bar was full. What the fvck is this? To add again: I changed the resolution to 1920x1080 and the bug disappeared, I strongly ...
